Sick!

15.06.2009

I see the British Lions went for a little shop around Cape Town’s V&A Waterfront yesterday and popped into the legendary Pumastore.

  1. Brendon Says:

team sponsors adidas bound to be a tad miffed with this – awesome.

someone in the know email this to them.

    suzie?

  2. bored Says:

    one big advert..snooze

  3. Mr Belvedere Says:

    Shameless plug.

“Can’t wait to get back into that shop when I get back to town..”

Someone wrote that for you, right?

  4. KS Says:

they need a little retail therapy after Luke Watson almost had his way with most of them… LOL

  5. Seth Rotherham Says:

    Two words, Mr Belvedere.

    SCROLL

    DOWN

While you’re at it, have a squizz at this page – http://www.2oceansvibe.com/associated-brands/

  6. P-lo Says:

I wouldn’t be too concerned with “Impossible is our marketing staff”, 2Oceans was placed in front of them years ago when they though the internet was a fad, hell, I won’t be amazed if “all day i dream about sport” ask for the article to be fax’d their way!

  7. Dirkie Says:

You clearly arent ashamed at plugging away for Puma. Getting sick of the gimmick that was “2oceansvibe”. Bring back the old vibe…

  8. KP Says:

You guys are pathetic. Do you expect Seth to do everything for free? Puma are clearly sponsors of the vibe. Is it really such a shame that he published something like that? And anyway i’m sure fans of the Lions would have enjoyed those shots. I’ve read 2oceans for 4 years now and have watched it grow all the time. Did you forget about the idols scandal? Did you forget about the weathergirls tv show? There are much more articles now than ‘the old days’ it is obvious that some must be sponsored. There are so many highlights but you get angry with him when he promotes a sponsor? It looks very two faced from where I am standing. I agree with seth, just scroll down to the next article. why create such negativity?

  9. Chris Tiller Says:

A agree with KP. Is puma not a cool brand? why else he let them sponsor him? and why would Seth not want to visit their store when he gets home from holiday? he probably gets stuff free there anyway. it’s not like he is talking about crocs shoes. it’s puma!!! it’s very cool expensive stuff! I would read that link he gave above because I thinka lot of you seem to have missed the point.

  10. City Slicker Says:

Seth is transparent and honest about his sponsors, so all you naysayers, if you don’t like, don’t look!

  11. kaizer Says:

the rest of the players were in the far better adidas originals store next door… adidas spend their money on the British Lions, Confed Cup, WC 2010 and I can go on, they dont need 2Oceans vibe. Puma can stick to the Southern Kings, Ferrari (LOL) and Seth

  12. Chris Tiller Says:

HAA HAA Kaizer! You obviously work for adidas and your comment is the work of a very angry desperate person. Why is half the adidas sponsored team at Puma? At least if you did sponsor seth you would get brand loyalty which you don’t get from your sponsored players who seem very happy to pose for a camera in the puma store!! HAA HAA you are very funny and sad. not only that but here you are ON 2oceansvibe yourself. what does all of that say? the marketing people at puma are streets ahead of you sponsoring south africas number 1 blog.

  13. kaizer Says:

Chris, all players in the photos are infact puma sponsored players. 21 of the 36 BIL players wear adidas and would not be pictured posing with puma shoes. as for number 1 blog in SA? Cape Town is not SA, the rest of SA dont care or know about 2Oceans vibe. as for a desperate person???? as i said adidas have bigger and more important things to worry about that 2 Oceans vibe. brand loyalty? money talks. So Chris, do you work for Puma????

  14. Chris Tiller Says:

Kaiser for someone who has “bigger and better” things to worry about you seem to be spending an awful amount of time right here on this post and website. whether or not those players are sponsored by puma doesn’t take away from adidas and you looking like a doos. do you think people reading 2oceansvibe know they are sponsored by puma? all they see are players with adidas on their shirts going crazy in a puma store. regarding 2oceansvibe, the last time I checked they won 6 awards including best overall blog in the SA blog awards. Not cape town awards, SA awards. you are comign across like a very angry child. and no I don’t work for puma but the way you are behaving as a spoilt angry child adidas employee I’ll never buy adidas again.

  15. Urban Ninja Says:

Its nothing personal dudes and dudettes. Why don’t we all take some rescue rememdy and calm down to a mild roar.

    Here is the official vibe.

Lions = Adidas sponsored as a TEAM
Irish = Individually sponsored PUMA athletes

As a courtesy, Puma took some of the Irish guys to their store, for a punt yes. Its PR driven and you know what – if you haven’t noticed, the world is a changing place, and ambassador driven marketing is an accepted form of media now.

Oh, and did you know that Puma and Adidas were founded by two brothers right, Rudolph and Adi Dassler. You didn’t? Did you know their head offices in Germany are still across the road from each other? You didn’t?

They originally had 1 shoe company, but they split over differences, each building a world wide empire in the same industry.

Ok, so, why don’t we all have a Jack Black beer at Boo Radleys while watching the newest weather girl, all with our Ray Ban’s on, before heading for Caprice for a 2Oceansvibe cocktail or two…

Come on… I know you want to.

  16. KP Says:

I am amazed that Adidas employee KAIZER is allowed to put in print what he wrote above regarding brand loyalty, saying that Adidas don’t care about it and that “money talks.” Is that what they teach you to tell the public at adidas?

  17. machine dean Says:

Kaizer move on bud your wasting our time and your own enjoy the vibe that the NUMBER ONE BLOG SITE in SA offers it cant please every one the entire time other wise it would be the SABC :)

  18. Spicey Says:

    Jog on Kaizer….

  19. Marc Perel Says:

Gotta agree with Urban Ninja on this one. Every take a chill pill… It’s getting VERY heated in here.

I think it’s a classic article. Is Seth is punting Puma? I don’t care, it’s not going to change my life; if you are so sensitive and dislike the fact that he’s got Puma under his associate brands AND in an article, why are you even clicking on the article to comment?

  20. tuku Says:

    well said urban ninja

  21. Kosie Says:

I read through all of this with real tears in my eyes.

While you guys fight about the Adidas and Puma, I had to walk to the plaasskool barefoot.

Those okes are smaller than my boet Hendrik, so I don’t know why you guys thing those Ingelsmanne are so cool.

If they scrumming the that milk cow from the farm next door, I would have been impressed.

Stop fighting and have a braai when the Bokke win!

  22. Dean Says:

And not one mention of Rugbytech the only brand they all like.. ;)

  23. Greg W Says:

Love the vibe, and thanks for the clarity Ninja.

  24. worldwarwon Says:

guys – its a website… just relax, roll a little pinner, kick back and be thankful your’e not fighting for your life somewhere shit
