NEWLANDS AVENUE PENIS GRAFFITI
Some of you will recall the incredible story reported by the BBC and the Guardian (here) with regards to the teenager who drew a massive 60-foot penis on the roof of his parents mansion in West Berkshire. He wanted to see if it would be picked up by Google Earth.
His parents found out about it when someone in a helicopter spotted it and sent the pics in to the British press. You can read about that here, but for now I have something else for you. Something quite similar from home. From the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town to be precise!

Does anyone know the exact location of this? The street name? I want to view it from Google Earth.(cant really make out the street name in the photo)

thats the corner of newlands avenue and Kildare road… drove past it this morning… Wat a lag hey!

PS: Shalk, i doubt you will be able to se it from Google Earth, as they only update it everyone 8months or so… Last pics i saw on Google Earth were from Feb 09. but good luck:)

If YOUR Google Earth would be able to pick up this little bit of detail in the road, please let me know so that I can also download your program. But I doubt if you’ll be able to. By the way, South Africa is updated that regularly on Google Earth – unfortunately.

Nice, Seth. You were spotted buying up all stock of white chalk at the CNA in Newlands yesterday. Please tell us it wasn’t you. You wouldn’t resort to, erm, gutter level to generate an amusing post, would you? No. You would not. Good. that’s cleared up then. Unlike the humungous penis which sleepy leafy Newlands woke up to this morning.
