CAPE TOWN TRAFFIC WEBCAMS
This must be the find of the century! FINALLY, you can keep a beady eye on Cape Town’s traffic situation and possibly change your route and/or timing to suit. Just by going to THIS website.
Check this out, taken yesterday at 17h23, as you get onto the N2 next to the entrance to le Waterfront.

Your basic five o’ clock muffshow
They’ve also got cams on Hospital Bend, Eastern Boulevard and many more, including the Green Point Stadium! Check it all out here .
But wait, that’s not all! If you click in the next ten minutes, you’ll also get Camps Bay beach cams!! Oh yes – they’ve extended the “traffic” cams to Camps Bay beach as well. Allowing you, the sunbather, to see how hectique things are looking on a particular day. Also useful for those of you in the ‘burbs who THINK it might be winter, when in actual fact the sun is shining on “the other side.”

Today, for example, you WON’T be going to the beach..
Pretty sick!
I’ve added those links to the top of the left menu (just under where it says “HOME”) so you won’t struggle to find them in future.
Just looking out for you.
[you lean forward and give me a peck on the cheek]
Oooh! Thank you, my baby!
[thanks george]

Dude, you can’t get on to the N2 at the Waterfront, you get on to the N1. Yeah, they’re incorrectly labelled.

It’s a lot like the 6000 miles… Cape Town traffic webcams page – http://tr.im/trafweb – in fact, it’s almost identical!

Or, if you wanted to be REALLY pathetic (boredom permitting) you could say it’s NEITHER and is ACTUALLY called Eastern Boulevard, as the N1 feeds off it.
Either way, it does lead to the N2 and is considered the N2 for a lot of Capetonians.
Just checked Google Maps, they’re calling it the N2 as well.
Any other great time-waster ideas?

Actually Bryn, it’s the N1 and the N2 right there and they split around the corner..
If you want to see the road in Milnerton check here http://www.capetown-webcam.com/

Bryn, you are my WOOOOOORST kind of person. You actually can get to the N2 from the waterfront. actually most people call it the N2. What made you suddenly say what you did? It is such a small thing to niggle about you must be so bored it’s criminal.

I never realised that it was the N1 and not the N2 at Coen Steytler. This is an outrage.
I am boycotting both roads, MTN, the CTICC, 2oceansvibe.com, Camps Bay and – for some reason – Lays Chips as well, in protest.
Bryn, without people like you to watch over them and us, the authorities will continue to take advantage of the “little man on the street”, whichever street that may be. Thanks for standing up for our rights, even though you look like a prick as you do so.
I notice that you didn’t comment on the Valkenberg camera – can I see you waving there?

Bryn: “Goddamnit, 6000, you’re right. I’m going to the media and no-one can stop me!”
Well quite, although that big fence around the hospital might cause you some delays.

Now the fun part is sending Seth pic’s of the camera’s that broadcast the images.
Hint: They’re mostly on top of the Vodacom Cell towers.

Someone should tell Mr Vodacom…

Whatever dude, you just stole the idea and cam links from http://www.page88.co.za/cr/capetown/capetowntrafficcams.shtml or the 6000 page and are now marketing it as your own. Pathetic. Lets see if you allow this comment…

Catching up on my 2Oceansvibe gossip and banter…
@pathetic…ur pathetic, hahahaha. Seriously bru, you should learn to chillax a bit and feel the vibe take over. This is def gonna be great for the times in summer when I wake up in the “burbs” and look outside and see the clouds on the mountain and think the Caprice will be shit…and meanwhile, back in the ranch the angels are already dancing on the bar!!!

The problem with the traffic cams, is that no-one bothers to cleans the lenses.
Come 2010 and we won’t know what we’re looking at..
