WHITE AFRIKAANS MAN RESPONDS TO MALEMA
ANC Youth League President Julius Malema , who was recently referred to as Julia Malema in an article (here) about gold medalist Caster Semen’s gender controversy, has defended his statement that white people did not come out to support gold medalist Caster Semenya at the airport when she arrived home.

iafrica reports : Semenya arrived home from the World Athletics Championship on Tuesday amid controversy over her gender. At the airport, Malema slammed white people for not being there: “Where are the white South Africans to welcome Caster? If it was rugby, they would be here.”

Gawie taking the piss, but making his point.White people didn’t attend because, assuming, most of them aren’t members of ANCYL and didn’t get the memo to attend and be political puppets at the airport.Transport,banners, t-shirts all courtesy of Malema & friends.Why this whole thing turned political is beyond me.

This man’s article only perpetuates the racial divide that Malema is trying to create with his childish remarks. Sure, you may get a sense of satisfaction from throwing some mud back at him, but at the end of the day, you’re playing his game.

Julius is actually not funny anymore, at first it was fun to hear the shit that came out of his mouth but now he is starting a damn race war. He is making us blacks seem more racist than ever, how are we supposed to settle into our rainbow nation with this guy constantly pointing fingers at whites. Obviously it is going to make whites hate blacks and visa versa…it’s just not on, Madiba changed this for all of us and now look what this idiot is doing. I wasn’t at the airport either because I had to work, just like 65% of South Africans with jobs but he goes and strictly points at white people…Im hating this race war crap, it’s not benefiting anyone…Julius is an idiot.

The powers that be are clearly unable or unwilling to curtail this man, which doesn’t leave one with much faith in them. Realistically, does anyone have any answer as to what to do about him?
Gawie made his point admirably, but that’s still not going to stop Mal’enema spewing sh*t every time he opens his mouth. Not good for all South Africans, period.

Quite simply I don’t watch athletics and therefore have no interest in it, this goes for soccer as well……I watch rugby do I therefore have to attend the airport evertime a sporting person uses it? Really??

Probably the best written article I’ve ever seen on this site. Highly Entertaining yet completely getting a point across. Sipho summed up (brilliantly) exactly what’s on in the minds of most South Africans no matter what skin colour. He’s not alone either; every single one of my black friends are embarassed and ashamed to be affiliated with this man (Julia) even by colour. Its a damn shame considering the potential this country’s leaders have. Thanks Gawie.

Assuming we want this country to go forward, government, included the ANCYL , needs to focus on providing basic human needs for all and celebrating our high ranking and kickass sporting faction rather than finding little issues like the white count at an airport. Julius you need to get with the picture bud and start finding real ways of make a difference.

I was there. I am as white as you get. 44 year old white male born of European parents. It seems that Julia has some sort of rare colour blindness. Actually there were a whole bunch of whites there, at least enough to be racially represented. I want to be a politician so I can lie without recourse. The biggest problem here is not that Julia can say what he wants, it is that our voices are still. We need to stand up and shout, at least as loudly as he does. In public places, where we can be heard. Not just here, where we are preaching to the converted. Stand up and be counted. When Julia says something stand up and prove him wrong. Let us be the groundswell of public opinion that swamps and drowns the politicians that would deny us the country we are trying to build.

The fact is that many white people DO go to the airport when the Springboks return. Either they don’t have jobs or don’t have rigid office hours etc. Whatever the reason, those are the people to whom Julius was referring.
Yes, we who have a job and fixed office hours have a valid excuse. For the rest, Julius’ comment was valid and applicable.
No, I’m not a Julius supporter, but by pure chance, he does make some salient points.

This is yet another shining example of how brilliantly narrow minded the president of the ANCYL is. One wonders if he believes that by making statements such as this he is increasing the support that South Africans have in him. What has failed to be questioned is what in gods good name was HE doing there? I too was unable to attend the welcoming of the athletes at OR Tambo, not because I am white but because I felt it necessary to contribute to the economy my attending my place of work. Between Julius and Winnie (another shining example of how politicians are NOT to behave) the entire so called “welcoming” was a complete fiasco with a bunch of hangers-on jostling for an opportunity to hear the sound of their own voices. Caster Semenya looked like there were a million other places she’d rather have been and so yet again another event was turned into a rah rah ANC jol exacerbated by the athletes wearing lays in the ANC colours.
Had Julius the mental capacity to complete woodwork, we perhaps would have been spared another of his lunatic rantings

As a Saffer living abroad, it really scares me when this sort of caveman mentality comes across the waves. Not only is it sending an awful message to the international media, that this is the way we repay those who lost their lives for our freedom but it also gives those of us who live away from home little hope to return to a safe and unified country in which to raise our children. Julius is a racist in every sense in the word, he’s an embarrassment to every South African at home or not and has proudly taken a piss on every grave of those who fell for our freedom. To those at home, make it known that he’s an enemy of South Africa, of every living and breathing South African, regardless of colour, age or race.

I have to agree with most of the readers, Julius a clown and a BIG RACIST I mean I support all sports regardless of color. Julius – maybe you should get more education before making stupid public and racist comments.
And yes most of us DO HAVE REAL jobs – not like some “clever” ones that sit and gets paid by goverment to make a fool of himselfs and lay around the whole day and try to stir with politics even if there is no problems.
