TUESDAY TABS #154 – YARA (MISS MAVERICKS 2008)
Well this is a first for the 2oceansvibe Tuesday Tabs department! We’ve brought you Tuesday Tabs every week for nearly three full years and have managed to maintain a certain level of quality and class. Sometimes the readers send in options for us to consider, and sometimes we find it ourselves. And I thought we had seen it all!
Quite recently we received an email from a reader (Dave M – thank you kindly) with a photo of the most beautiful angel we’ve seen for quite some time. There was no information on her and, following further requests, we were informed that the girl in question was a 21-year-old Ukranian angel by the name of Yara. But that’s not all – it turns out she is a dancer from Cape Town’s premier gentleman’s club, Mavericks! And what’s more, she also happens to be MISS Mavericks 2008! Whooah!
The reader had a contact who was apparently involved behind the scenes in the 2008 Miss Mavericks competition and had access to some high quality pics of said angel, Yara. We were very impressed with how classy the pics were and thought you would appreciate her featuring as this week’s Tuesday Tabs installment!

I’ll be honest – I’m very impressed! But not as impressed as you’ll be when I tell you that I had a peep at the Mavericks Website and can confirm that Yara is still very much a feature at the club!

Shame on you guys for promoting the exploitation and degradation of women at Mavericks. Have you ever bothered to look at one of the ridiculous contracts that are imposed on them and in terms of which they pay for the privilege of ‘working’ at Mavericks. Are you aware of how these women are recruited or why so many foreign women are used. Do you just ignore all the reports and allegations of trafficking of women into these clubs and the activities of Eastern European organised crime groups. No of course you dont. Its got fancy fixture and fittings so it must be alright? Anyway what do you care, right. Its just women.

Hey, just seen this. I’m a girl and I have some friends who work at Mavericks and believe me they’re far from exploited. I know there’s a dark side to this industry and I hope it’s being cracked down on, but don’t tar all the clubs and all the women in them with the same brush.
According to them, they’re free to go whenever they please and a lot of them do after earning a fair bit of money. There’s no debt (they paid for their flight), they’re not allowed to give sexual favours, they’re independent, confident, and they’re all earning a hell of a lot more than I am.
As for employing foreigners, if good looking girls from countries with less opportunity want to make a new life and a bit of money for themselves, then I don’t see what the problem is. Arguably they’re the ones doing the exploiting, and if a girl wants to make the most of what she’s got then why on earth not.
