THE PARLOTONES LIVE ON 2OCEANSVIBE RADIO – FRIDAY
The 2010 World Cup is well underway and emotions are running high – and it’s not just to do with the football! The latest entertainment industry skandaal to circulate the internet and the airwaves is the case of SA band, The Parlotones. Their patriotism and levels of commercialism were questioned in a twitter/comment record-breaking article on 2oceansvibe, sensationally entitled “Parlotones Abandon South Africa And Support Germany.”
That’s when le shit hit le fan and, by the time the topic was discussed on 5FM, The Parlotones lead singer, Kahn Morbee had penned a response, entitled “Forever A South African.”
Comment and twitter mudslinging from both sides ensued and we realised there was only one thing left to do – get the boys on 2oceansvibe Radio!

Well, after being sucked in by the Parlotones false-flag bullshit article, I can honestly say I feel I’ve been truly “butt-fucked” by the 2oceansvibe corporate whore-master himself.
(thanks for that Seth)
Shame really, site used to be a fairly good read at times. Just too many “Preferred Products” being shoved down my throat in most of the articles to be comfortable any more (even for a “living the holiday” vibe)
“A bridge too far…” as they say.

…what a cheap shot at getting your audience numbers into double-digit territory, Seth! What a magnanimous, articulate & eloquently phrased response from Kahn Morbee. Didn’t you just love his finishing touch, where he proved he’s the bigger man by providing a link to your whiney article? Or did that surf right over your aspirantly overbranded lil touche? You’ll never come home as a hero if you don’t lift your game……

Cheap shot Seth. Articulate and eloquent response from Kahn Morbee. Now you’re trying to pump up your Friday audience by hanging on his coat tails……don’t keep digging, you already smell nasty. You’ll never come home as a hero like that! Morbee’s raised the bar, or did that surf right over your overbranded touche?

This is one bridge too far, Seth. Shameless commercialism I can live with; the rectal dribble of South African music I can’t.
Wow

Jesus Seth I don’t know how you do it. You make the overboard statement that they are supporting Germany which you know is not true. You suck Kahn in and he responds. And now they’re on your show! You’re like a magician. Great to watch!

I’m a Parlotones fan and had never heard of 2Oceans vibe before now. I just wanted to say that besides this nasty fight that is going on and besides all the ads around the place (which I agree you get in magazines anyway) I am quite addicted to this place and have been visiting every day. Well done 2Oceans!

Just like the so called Idols fight this is been a publicity stunt from the start. How are people not used to this by now and how are people still so surprised when it happens? :/
