“Super WiFi Unleashed In USA”

ITWeb has reported that the FCC of America will be freeing up the vacant airways, or “white spaces” between between television channels, making them available for long distance, low frequency, ultra fast “Super WiFi”.
So does this mean EVERYTHING web related gets an upgrade? If so, what could we expect? A few predictions:
-
The Gulfstream G6
There are two major reasons to discuss the new Gulfstream G6. Firstly, there is a Top 5 song in the US iTunes charts called “Like a G6” by a group called Far East Movement. And secondly, tomorrow’s jackpot for the SuperEna Lottery is EUR 150 Million (R1.5 Billion) – which is probably the only way you will be able to buy such a stunning toy.
Let’s check this toy out:

The G-6 – Now you’re killing it..The Gulfstream G650 (official name) is a twin-engine business jet aircraft under development by Gulfstream Aerospace. It was formally launched as an internal company project in May 2005, and publicly unveiled on March 13, 2008. At the public announcement occasion, company executives stated the new airplane would become Gulfstream’s largest, fastest and most expensive business jet when it enters the market.
The G650 will fly at cruise speeds of Mach 0.85 to 0.90, with maximum speed of Mach 0.925 and will have a range of up to 7,000 nmi (13,000 km). It will be equipped with a full kitchen and bar and may be equipped with a variety of entertainment features including satellite phones and wireless Internet. The new jet will use the new Rolls-Royce BR725 engine producing a maximum thrust of 17,000 pounds-force (75.6 kN). Gulfstream states that with a weight of less than 100,000 pounds (45,360 kg), it will be able to land at small airports avoiding the busy airports around the world.

I’m absolutely fine with that vibe! CLICK HERE to read more about the plane.
And, at $58 Million to buy one, I strongly suggest you buy a ticket to tomorrow’s SuperEna lottery! It just makes buying these things that much more seriously!

P DIVVY – WON’T BE TOUCHED WITH A TEN FOOT POLE

That’s because the first thing that headhunted potential employees ask themselves is, “Is this company a sinking ship?”
And SA Rugby, the company, is a sinking ship.

2oceansvibe Declares Summer Open
You know, I gave a talk recently and in the powerpoint presentation was a screenshot of an article from 2007. The article happened to be 2oceansvibe’s annual declaration of the opening of summer. I noted the date – 17 September, 2007. My goodness but it came early that year!
Not so three years later as we find ourselves welcoming the Summer of the beautiful on this, the 30th day of September, almost two weeks later than that glorious day.
Enjoy this pic taken at Camps Bay beach yesterday:
Camps Bay beach – yesterday (Click that)That, combined with this sensational lineup for the next week, can only mean one thing..
And it’s 20′s all the way after that my baby!

Ladies and gentlemen, 2oceansvibe hereby declares Summer 2010 OPEN!
Make it count this time!

Qaddafi Goes To Hollywood – Libya’s business ties are coming under scrutiny today during a new hearing over the release of the Lockerbie bomber. But it seems the Qaddafis have even grander aspirations, making films starring Adrien Brody, Forest Whitaker, and Mickey Rourke. In the same way that the U.S. has been drawn to Libya for its most wanted export, Libya now wants a piece of America’s most undeniable commodity: Hollywood movies. [dailybeast]

Study Finds Athletes Fast Approaching Peak Performance – At the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, swimmers set 25 world-record times while dominating the pool. By comparison, only five world records changed hands during the track and field events. But many of those swimming records fell only as a result of newly instituted bodysuit technology, relative advances that aren’t applicable to runners, high-jumpers, and shotputters. Have humans reached their peak athletic performance? [wired]

It’s David Bowie Time – For more than four decades, David Bowie has adopted personas the way most of us adopt internet handles. WORK IS LIFE, LIVE THE HELLDAY

That’s if you’re living in the UK.
Indeed, recently-conducted research (which is is of course always reliable; remember the Da Vinci Code?) has indicated that Britons between the age of the thirty and forty are the most unhappy group of people in the whole world.
What’s there to be unhappy about?

SPL!NG Movie Review: The Other Guys (2010)
The Other Guys, from the same actor/director duo that brought us Step Brothers, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy. Adam McKay and Will Ferrell sure know how to get a laugh, taking the seemingly ordinary, flipping it on its head and surgically removing the funny. If they were doctors, they’d specialise in funnybonology and if they were plumbers… they’d crack you up or not even wear any pants at all!

They’ve done the same stunt with The Other Guys, a homage to the mismatched buddy action-comedies of the ’80s. This cop comedy ranges from dead serious to downright ridiculous… throwing Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg in a sensible cocaine-dusted pursuit vehicle together as partners. They’re an unlikely team, but boy do they work well together with Wahlberg playing the tough Brooklyn beat cop just out of the cooler and Ferrell taking the Stranger Than Fiction government auditor character into much sillier terrain as a desk-bound police accountant with a disrespect for hot women.
Catch the rest of the review and the trailer after the jump…

‘SMART ABOUT WHAT’ VISITS 2OCEANSVIBE RADIO
Andy and the gang from Smart About What pulled through to 2oceansvibe Radio the other day, to get the lowdown on internet Radio. It’s a fantastic video and, dare I say it, quite informative too!
Check it out by clicking the image below:
Our boy kicks off with:
As a 20 something Cape Tonian Caucasian, I really only have two choices of radio station to listen to. I don’t count Cape Talk as a radio station – it’s a glorified soapbox on which people call in and give their zero value input on the rehash of issues that were covered in the previous week’s Carte Blanche episode (Easy, it was just a joke dad, Cape talk is very informative). From the few short stints I’ve had in Jo’burg, moving north only really adds Highveld Stereo into the mix, and while I was kind of impressed with the setup, it hardly offered me with a unique approach to contemporary radio. The crux of my issue with FM radio is this: the songs are all the same and somebody neutered the DJs (I don’t blame the DJ’s for this btw).
Keep an eye on Smart About What – they cover all sorts of topics and bring you up to speed with what, why and how!

Jesse Eisenberg (Not Michael Cera) Plays Mark Zuckerberg In Facebook Movie – The 27-year-old New Yorker with the fiercely intelligent blue eyes, frenetic energy, and slouched shoulders is far more like the self-conscious and too-smart kid he’s played in nearly 20 films than the leading man of what may be the biggest movie of the year. Which actually makes him ideal to play Mark Zuckerberg, the world’s least CEO-like CEO. [dailybeast]
Barack Obama’s Rolling Stone Interview – Rolling Stone had interviewed Barack Obama twice before – first in June 2008, a few days after he won the Democratic nomination, and again that October, a month before his election. This time I sat with the president in the Oval Office, flanked by busts of Abraham Lincoln and Martin Luther King Jr. The conversation stretched on for nearly an hour and a quarter. The president began by complimenting my multi-colored striped socks. “If I wasn’t president,” he laughed, “I could wear socks like that.” [rollingstone]

NEW 2OCEANSVIBE.COM LAUNCHING ON MONDAY
Yes, it’s true… a tribe of underage North Korean programmers have been hard at work over the last couple of months, diligently developing the all-new 2oceansvibe website. As was mentioned by our glamorous representative at this year’s SA Blog Awards, 2oceansvibe will no longer be competing in this esteemed event.
This is purely because the new 2oceansvibe will no longer be a blog, but rather a ‘preferred news source’ with multiple writers, delivering you the same hand-crafted mix of content. Content that you really care about. Content that people really talk about.

The all-new 2oceansvibe – landing on MondayJust as 2oceansvibe Radio promises to deliver content and programming that fills that very empty niche left by local radio, so too will the new 2oceansvibe.com – giving you something that deters from the ongoing Zuma/Malema narrative. You see, we believe that there is more to life than the local political soap opera. There is international news, sport, business, technology, science, entertainment, music and social media to be had, and we want to deliver it to you.
Not that we won’t discuss local news – oh sure, we will – but we will cover it when it needs to be covered. You know, when something actually happens – but we certainly won’t be fueling the same pessimistic talk which has permeated our lives for the last 16 years.
It’s a safe place. A real place where we talk about real things to real people.
People like you.
Because you’re better than that.

EFFECTS OF BIEBER’S VISIT ALREADY FELT IN THE MOTHER CITY

Scores of dead pigeons lay strewn across the Table Bay Boulevard in Cape Town on the weekend, metres from the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
A report has indicated that while the birds were initially thought to have suffered from a mass bout of the deadly avine Newcastle’s Respiratory Disease (no relation to the mining black lung of Newcastle, KZN), the SPCA has since concluded that the birds were poisoned.
Poisoned, you say.
We say, slain in the spirit. Of evil.

SLOGGI UNDERWEAR IS ON THE RIGHT TRACK
Steady and The Film Guy shot this little vid for Sloggi Underwear. They sent it with the caption, “though you might enjoy.”
THOUGHT?
MIGHT?
Give me a break – you should’ve just written “You love this – FACT” before I had even seen it.
And that lovely blonde lass in the video? Wow – very cool vibe she’s got going there. Apparently she was so much fun “on set” and bought everyone drinks and washed everyone’s car.
Ja – like really down to earth and all that.
A real all-rounder. We’re big fans of that, here at the vibe.
Cool backtrack there as well – called Crazy Eyes by Steady and Ran McSherry. Get it here.

LONG WALK TO ARMS DEALS

The film rights to Nelson Mandela’s bestselling biography, Long Walk to Freedom, have been sold to South African film producer, Anant Singh.
This is the same man who produced such gems as:
- Mr Bones
- Mr Bones 2: Back from the Past
- Mama Jack
- Wulin Warriors: Legend of the Seven Stars
So prospects are looking good on the filmic integrity front.
That said, it wouldn’t be fair to omit that Singh has also produced the Oscar-winning locally produced drama, Yesterday.
But the international arms deal investors that Singh has lined up may end up being the actual focal point of this story.

TUESDAY TABS #202 – DEMI MOORE
Old Demi Moore (or JoAnne Galloway, as you might know her) needs no introduction. Mrs Ashton Kutcher has been in our lives for many years and she has successfully made the jump from high scool teenage wet-dream to cougar extraordinaire. Which makes it even more surprising that I have never seen these pics of her before – taken during the earlier years – before she became seriously famous.

Demi Moore – Today’s Tuesday Tabs ambassadorIt’s clear why she is the all-time favourite of many men (and women, mind you) around the world! It is those people in particular that I wish to warn about these next shots. Make no mistake her Tuesday Tabs offering is fantastic, but I fear that the way women “used to roll” in those days, was somewhat different to now. They were more free, if you get my drift? they really ‘let their hair down,’ you could even say.
So with that in mind, I urge you to consider clicking the below link before you do it – it is, without doubt, NSFW.

It’s awesome and I want you all to watch it.

And the punishment dealt to Jessica Simpson and Sarah Palin? Wow, “kudos” as they gratuitously say on the social media infrawebs.
