Nicky Van Der Walt & Lee-Ann Liebenberg Release Official Statement Following Champagne-Fuelled Fight At Caprice
An official statement has been issued by former GQ Best Dressed Man of the Year, Nicky van der Walt and SA model, Lee-Ann Liebenberg, following the infamous champagne-induced brawl at Cafe Caprice, Camps Bay – Sunday night. They were thrown out and Liebenberg tweeted her outrage, having ‘spent’ R60,000 on champagne. Her tweet and Twitter account were promptly deleted.
The statement is meant to be on behalf of both of them, but switches from references of ‘we’ and ‘our,’ to ‘me’ and ‘I’ – so it’s all rather confusing. Follow the link for their official statement..
Official Statement on behalf of Nicky van der Walt & Lee-Ann Liebenberg:
1. We were privileged enough to be guests on a very generous friend’s table and were enjoying one of our firsts nights out since the birth of our baby girl, Gia. My fiancé was touched in a place, spoken to and handled in a manner that is an insult to her as woman and degrading to females in general, and out of respect for her, I don’t wish to elaborate on the matter as its is degrading and insulting to the mother of my child.
2. We respectfully request to be left alone as a family on holiday with our baby and parents in Cape Town
3. As degrading as it is that this transpired and Lee-Ann had to be put through this, it is even more insulting that we should be ridiculed about it.
4. Mr. Michael Mouneimne had 4 or 5 different incidents non-related to our incident that occurred in his establishment and the fact that he could belittle a woman being harassed shows his contempt or lack of respect for female rights.
We have nothing further to say and request that our privacy and wishes be respected in this regard.
There was no number 5 next to that last point, so I don’t know if you should take it as an actual point, or just a kind of closing statement.
One thing is for sure, I’ll take Mike’s word over this lot, any day of the week. And anyone who knows Mike will do the same.
Let’s just keep in mind that van der Walt and Liebenberg were boasting of drinking R60,000 of champagne. And then you get Mike, who doesn’t drink.
Is this what Lee-Ann meant on the night when she threatened Mike and Caprice, telling them they would “regret” throwing them out?

Is that the actual statement that they released or did someone not proof read this article before it was posted? Some of it makes no grammatical sense at all, and makes both Lee-Ann and Nicky look not only like people who are unkempt but also that are uneducated. Should such idiots be allowed to raise children?

grammar Nazi, and I have learnt to accept that not everyone will
have perfect grammar all the time, but does their PR person/agent
not have access to Microsoft Word? Even a D-list celebrity can
afford to pay for a Microsoft Word license and perhaps a basic
Matric-level education. The problem with South Africa isn’t just
Julius Malema, it’s idiots like this that get lauded and placed on

Andrew Farr their publicist, commented by saying that the couple was not drunk, even after consuming R6O k champers... If he was smart enough in this case, he wld have agreed not to even comment, as that's a dead giveaway in itself -Pathetic! Then again he gets paid by them to make them good look. Look at your own mistakes first before judging others! I’m no escort but a dancer! Many people had tatoos. I’m a down to earth person and if you know me you would know that I am a person who always love and care for other people. I am not full of myself. I work in an establishment that both Nick and Lee-anne visit frequently and may I just say they are both pompous, self-riteous idiots. They think they are better than everyone and speak down to whoever they desire. They suck serious ass.
