Now, no underground concrete bunker is safe
Okay, not quite X-Ray specs, but definitely a leap forward in covert surveillance technology. Watch these hot science geeks show off a new type of radar they’ve cooked up that can detect objects moving through 20 cm thick concrete walls.
I’m not going to pretend to know how that machine works (the hot nerd said “sine wave” and my maths deficiency kicked in) but the weapons and surveillance applications of this are astounding.
When it comes to seeing through solid matter, don’t let what you see in movies fool you: the current technology allows perhaps one image every 20 seconds, and the emitter has to be really close to the subject for it to work at all. Now they can get real time images from up to 20 meters away.
Oh, Science, even though you are systematically tearing away every vestige of physical and virtual privacy we have, how can I not love you?
