TV Presenter Catches Out Corrupt Cops

You may never have heard of TV celebrity and author Zanele Mbokazi. It would mean you’ve never watched SABC1′s Gospel Gold show, for which she used to be presenter, but anything’s possible. However all of that is beside the point. Because Zanele is now even more famous for something else: helping to bust some very naughty SAPS officers on Sunday.
The former TV personality received a phone call from two Rosebank detectives who said they had “damning criminal evidence against her” and would be investigating Zanele if she did not hand over R10 000 to them pronto.
Zanele duly met the policeman and policewoman in Melville on Sunday night, and handed over a big bag of money to the cunning twosome. But Z had a clever plan of her own. She’d arranged for the Hawks to be waiting in the wings, you see. The special police force swooped in, arrested the shady sergeant and lieutenant, and took the money out of their greedy little paws.
The two officers – aged 35 and 42 – are now facing charges of bribery and corruption, and will appear before the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court today.
A round of applause for our girl Zanele, who presumably has not been involved in anything criminal, except perhaps her stint on Gospel Gold.
