    Howzit!
Getting married on 18 Feb and it would be awesome to spend two nights in Montagu on our way up the Garden Route. Do you think the rooms are sound proof and the headboards handcuff friendly?

My girlfriend and I have been together for almost 3 years. This year will be the first year that we’ll be spending Valentines together (work has kept us apart) and I’d really like to do something special for her.

Did I mention breakfast is her favourite meal and we are huge wine fans?

    Please?

My boyfriend doesn’t get out much – he is stuck inside the engineering facility at Stellenbosch University, with its grey corridors, musty classrooms and leaking aircons, sometimes from early ’til very late. If he’s not in class, he’s practising guitar in his room for hours.

I would LOVE for him to be spoilt and get out and spend some time in nature (and with me) and just LIVE, if you know what I mean. Breathe. Make memories. Look up from the books and the music and spend time in nature.

And I have never been in Montagu (except for driving right through it). It would be such a delight to spend a weekend there!

My wife is american and I’m from Cape Town. We live in New York, but we’re in SA for a couple months. We got hitched recently and decided to spend some time here instead of having a proper honeymoon. It will be our 1st Valentines Day as a married couple, and I really want to do something special and memorable before we go back to the big city life

I also just recently fell in love with a new lady.

The weekend will be the ideal sendoff and would make the year bearable.

Also it will be 15 yrs on Valentine’s day that I stole my girls heart at High school. The getaway will add plenty brownie points in my account.

I don’t have a boyfriend.. So as you can imagine valentines day is pretty sucky for me, shopping centers make me nauseas and couples irritate me to a new level. Yet if I won this prize I’d take my best girlfriend with me, have an amazing frikken time with lots of wine and such, and maybe tick this year off as a good valentines day :)

I still think David Kramer says it best:

    “Montagu-u-u-u-u-u-u, ek drink jou muskadel
Ek sit hier op my rusbank, my voete op ‘n springbokvel.
Die Klein Karoo. Of ‘n Kannaland
Die son steek die Langeberge aan die brand!”

Enjoying some of Montagu’s muskadel… in Montagu… with my partner of 12 years (on 26 Feb) and wife of 2 years, courtesey of Groupon and 20ceansvibe, would be awesome!

Actually it would be just a good time to get away with my better half since he’s being supporting me emotionally through a big change where i quit my job and decided to start working at a new foundation that still cant pay me but makes a really positive change in some awesome young talented peoples lives. It would be nice to treat him to something special for a change (and by that i mean a good shag, in a great hotel after a day of drinking wine).

Before my boyfriend became my boyfriend, we were best friends for 10 years already. We have been together a year now (anniversary on the 28th Feb). We are loving our ‘new’ relationship but we have not had the time to do a single romantic thing together due to work and financial stress – he is recently supporting me as my contract ended and he is such a solid man and I am so thankful to him. We are the best of friends and I would love to surprise him with this trip to say thank you for keeping a roof over our heads!

Okay so we all seem to have the same thing going here, like ‘gosh, look how special we all are, in our long-term relationships, and how much we care for our boyfriends/girlfriends/husbands/wifes/manboylovers etc’.

EXCEPT we all know that everybody secretly just wants this weekend away for themselves, and it’ll be a nice bonus to pretend they’re doing it to spoil their other half on Valentine’s Day.

So I propose the following. I (me, myself and Jessica, my other personality), am a huge fan of:
    a) winning shit
    b) wine
    c) getting out of the city for a spell
    d) wine
    e) breakfast
    f) wine
    g) winning weekends away that involve breakfast and – I cannot stress this enough – wine.

I’m also a huge fan of my boyfriend, who is fuck-off awesome and the love of my life and really deserves some time away and spoiling (with wine, which he may love more than he loves me). Thanks to work and travel and the like, we’ve yet to enjoy a Valentine’s Day in the same city, so it would be great to go big or go home on this one.

By the power of Grayskull, please give me this prize.

    That is all.

I think that he would absolutely love this. I want to spoil him like he always spoils me. Make him feel special like he does to me ever since the first day. I hope that you will consider this as my entry for the competition.. and I’m holding thumbs ?

  • I should win because I purchased the special on Groupon last year for the Vicorian 1906 Hotel, which included a wine tasting @ 3 of the wine estates, and a picnic. On the day of the wine tasting it poured with rain, so we missed out on the romantic picnic on the lawns of the wine estate. I would like to have the opportunity to have that romantic picnic, so, I supported you Groupon :-) , wouldn’t it be nice for you to support me now :-)

On arriving in SA at the age of 10 I met a boy who has now become the love of my life… we lost touch after we were 12 and left for high school. I searched for him for years and finally found him 32 years later…we are now together again and are about to share our first Valentines day together (as adults). My only son is about to leave to join the UK Armed Forces… so this Valentine Day will be bitter sweet (along with my 45 birthday which is on the 16th) Please make our first Valentines Special (and my birthday) and choose US! ;-)

    What can I say?

That I’m broke? Everybody’s broke… we all holidayed in Monaco and bought 57-foot flat-screens with rocket-powered robot butlers for Christmas and are dealing with the consequences.
    That I’m in love? It’s Valentine’s Day… everyone is in love/lust/liquor.
    That I’m stressed? Everyone’s a single mother/student/divorcee/ with a brother/cousin/dog in hospital/jail/overseas.
That I’m awesome? Blah… everyone’s going to say that.

So here’s the truth, for what it means: despite the fact that I’m a vaaastly mature 28-year-old professional woman, I live with seven people in digs for financial reasons. They’re lovely people but jissus do they make a noise. It would be so amazing to get away for a weekend and have the freedom to sleep peacefully, read a book with a nice glass of wine, or just shag my boyfriend’s brains out without having to listen to psytrance pumping from the kitchen at all hours (did I mention that two are deejays?). Give a girl a break, na?

Well mine is a bit different – I would actually LOVE to surprise my PARENTS with a weekend away. They are the most incredible people I know, who love each other, and love their 4 girls (me included :) ) so much, and they have sacrificed so much for us – struggled, but managed to put us all through college (minus 1 who is still in school), always doing everythin with love! So as you can imagine, they dont get to go away often, and they deserve a break – a nice getaway just for the 2 of them, where they can enjoy each other, relax in a beautiful surrounding and not wake up to kids fighting..hehe :P

This time last year I got married – and my parents gave up a holiday they had been saving for 3yrs for – so that my husband and I had a weeks honeymoon in Montagu. That just puts the cherry on top to show you how lovely they are – and what kind of hearts they have. Please please please pick them :)

My Valentines that i used to date each year had a story just to get out of it. So to me i just stop expecting anything from them. I dont talk about it i just enjoy myself. They either used to work, tell me they don’t believe in Valentine’s day cause it’s a waste of money etc, but me the fool still used to spoil them by making a romantic dinner with candles flowers which i bought myself. That’s the type of person i am i gave my all. if i win i will take my partner just to show him i still love although he dont believe in Valentine’s Day

My hubby and I will be celebrating our 9th ‘unofficial’ anniversary on the 28th of February – ‘unofficial’ means that the 28th of Feb 2003 marks the 1st time hubby ever kissed me! Needless to say, we’ve been together ever since, got married in 2008 and have a beautiful 3-year-old little girl. Hubby used to rock climb quite a bit before our daughter was born, but since then his ‘free’ time has slowly but surely gotten less and less and I can barely remember the last time he went rock climbing. I still remember him saying how much he used to love rock climbing in Montagu, so when I saw this competition I thought: “What better way to celebrate going into our 10th year together than to win this competition and whisk hubby away for a surprise weekend away in Montagu where he can go rock climb to his heart’s content?! I’ve never been to Montagu and I’ll definitely get Ouma to come babysit!” This would most definitely be the best ‘unofficial’ anniversary gift I could ever give my husband! Here’s holding thumbs I win ;)

And my husband having 7 heart bypasses – since then the romance took a fall) this will be a WONDERFUL treat to show my hubby i really do not want to murder him every second week, and do dearly love him very much. :) It will be wonderfull to go away alone, bring back the passion and having Groupon to thank for that. (if it was not that i was “spade” who knows if a love child was born – we would have named it Boutique Groupon! ha ha ha

After a rough year that myself and my husband had to go through. We still have not had a gap to breath.

Last year with my mother being found with bleeding on the brain and being in a hospital for a month long 160kms away from our family she passed away , it took its toll on our relationship and family relationships.

Coping with her passing then still writing law degree exams and looking after my 70 year old father. We havent had any time to spend with eachother and find ourselves again.

This would be the perfect valentines gift and a thank you gift to my husband for being there for me during these last few months.

We plan ti get married in June so finances (yes I mentioned money) dictate that we live quietly for now, so naturally yea, winning this would be great, I could treat my baby to what we love best, nature, wine and travel.

On te 29th of Feb I’m asking my boyfriend to marry me, and Heaven helps him if he says no, because being a spinster and well on my way to becoming the crazy cat lady who’s biological clock is starting to go out of wack, I’m gonne need a place to go honeymoon. Also if he says no, it will be the perfect place to kidnap him and keep him hostage *evil grin*

My Boyfriend and I live 700km apart, because of responsibilities we both have we only get to see each other every now and again, saw him last before Christmas and only tomorrow again, so a weekend like this would help lots! hehe even tho its been almost 8 months and we still strong!

I am starting a new venture in my life on the 1st of March 2012 at a new occupation. Will therefore not have any vacation for the first year and in desperate need of a weekend with just my beautiful husband and our little baby girl. We are saving up to buy a car to fit the family and every extra cent goes towards that car and savings for our girls education in the future. Everybody deserves a weekend away!

I would want to win this for my Mom. She unfortunately has no one to share Valentine’s day with but always sends me a little “I love you” token and card for Valentine’s. I have been on the net all day looking at flowers for her, trying to pick the perfect bunch to send. It is her 50th birthday on 03 March and she did her best to try save for a little get together but had to spend what she did manage to save on renewing her license, even though she has never had a car to drive, and for a deposit as she has to move month end. I had hoped to give her her dream day, sending her on a cruise from Durban to Cape town and let her stay at a friend’s home for the weekend but my finances have not allowed me to do this either. Just last week I purchased a groupon towards her flight to spend her leave with me but she no longer knows if she will be able to take her leave as she is desperately looking for a little place to stay. My Mother has gotten by with next to nothing for ages now and she deserves the best. I want to give as much of that to her as I can. This would be sublime for her, and memorable and the perfect gift to give her to spoil her and celebrate her and the milestone. :)

    Hello
I would realy love to win to win your prize. I run my own business and every time I seem to get ahead something gets in the way. This time it’s my Kombi. I had planned an awesome valentines surprise for my girlfriend which included dinner and accomidation. I have just had to cancel because the gearbox in our Kombi decided im not supposed to be spoling her. The gearbox wants all my attention and cash which leaves my girlfriend out of the picture. If I don’t win we will still have a sort of good time but if I win it will be the best thing ever. Please help me spoil her she realy deserves it.

I would love to win this not for myself, but for my boyfriend. They make Valentines day all about the woman and I don’t agree with that. Our boyfriends make us feel special every day of the year, doesn’t matter what day it is! So I’d love to win this for him. Make it MAN-entines day! :) So that he can be spoiled and so that he doesn’t have to spend more money on me! lol :) My boyfriend is the most amazing man in the world. He truly is a gift from God, and I thank the Lord every day for him. We’ve been together for nearly 5 years. He deserves the best, not just me. Not just the woman!

    Kind regards.

My answer is simple, its not only because I love and support groupon! and will do so for years to come. I have opened up a business, and im glad to say its successful which of course means I have been extremely busy, early morning LATE nights, and im over worked! My partner also runs a shop in the retail business and has been so busy over the festive season. We havent been able to spend any time together, and this valentines we are going to! Its not just me that needs this its US, we NEED this get away, we need to escape from our busy lives to celebrate and focus on each other again!

Well, I would love to win this because it would mean I could treat and spoil my lovely fiance.

I met my soulmate when I was still in high school in 2006. Never expecting to find love, he completely spinned my world around.

Every single year I have been able to spend Valentine’s day with him has been a blessing.

His support & compassion has completely changed my view of the world & he has made me a better person. He gave a meaning to the world “Love”. My life literally now revolves around love, so much in fact that I even quit my corporate job and decided to become a wedding photographer, just because I have realized how significant soulmates really are and I choose to surround myself with this every day, in my personal life and working life.

A cuddle and a kiss will do for me on Valentine’s Day, it’s more than enough, but he surely deserves so much more. ;)

Its been 7 months that I was unemployed and just started working today the 7th of February 2012. My wife of 12 twelve years, Olivia, has been the most amazing person during this difficult period for our family. She has supported me and has been the pillar of strength for our family. As a result of this situation has made many sacrifices for the family – many times giving up things that she may have needed herself. As I’m not in a good financial position right now, I would use this weekend to thank her for all the support and also show her how her unselfish love and commitment has not gone unnoticed and saved our marriage and family.

Even though my soon to ex husband and i are still very good friends, i would love to take a girlfriend of mine along who is going through the same thing. We need some girly time, away from the “love” in the air that comes with Valentines day….teddies, chocolates, lovestruck couples ad nauseam….Lol. We need to get away outta dodge city and have some girly time, drink great wine, dance, laugh, cry, laugh some more and for once, throw caution to the wind, get in our car, drive to Montagu ourselves (with or without getting lost) and have a freaking blast. Oh please consider us, we are worth it !!!!!!!

At this point of our lives we are so happy with what we have, we have a wonderful marriage and the most adorable little girl of two years. The only thing at this stage that would be SOOO nice, is a romantic getaway for me and my husband. We have not had a real romantic getaway in over two years and the Victorian 1906 Boutique Hotel in Montagu looks like the ideal getaway for us. I know this is every parent’s dream especially when the little one is still small, but I would also really like to surprize my husband with a getaway as he has been working so hard the last few years to support us and he really deserves to be spoilt! :) <3

I would like to win the weekend away for myself and my husband, as I think we deserve some quality time together. We got married, just after I left matric, in my first year at varsity, and due to not having any parents, his family offered to pay for a small wedding, we didn’t mind as long as we are together, thus we didn’t go on a honeymoon. We been married for three years now and have still not even been on a vacation or celebrated an annerversary or honeymoon besides candle light at our home. We both have busy lives, and work in time consuming and draining jobs but we get the satisfaction of helping people. I’m doing my final year as a student social worker and he is a teacher. We would just appreciate quality time together this valentines, due to my waitressing at night for extra money I work every valentines and have not spend this day of love with the man I love, please help us spend this valentines together. Thanks

I got married last year June.2 months after my husband got relocated to cape town:( could not go with him due to our finances we needed to maintain,it was either that or him getting retrenched.until now we stil trying to survive, but distance makes the heart grow fonder and even though we have ups and downs,we still love each other so much and that keeps us going.we try to see each other once a month.feel like our relationship is hanging by a thread nw as it does get frustrating.know this weekend away wil do us good-be close again and ignite our connection again.finances have made us put weekends away on hold as most of our money goes on flight tickets to see each other and we use our left over money for that.have a fantastic day Groupon! I hope we are the couple to be chosen so we can rekindle our love.

Ever since my wife heard my plummy English tones she has been convinced that I must be a) a member of the royal family and b) really rich (presumably as am royalty). She doesn’t know that I actually married her for her passport not the other way around – I mean who would want to live in the UK – even if they lived in a palace with the royal family, which I don’t. Actually especially if you had to live in a palace with the royal family – give me Cape Town any day.

Anyhow now that we are married the charade is increasingly difficult to maintain. I fear that if she finds out that I am not really rich she may head over to Clifton and find herself a swallow who really is. It would be great to treat her like a princess in Montagu – I’ll tell her its Monaco and with enough wine she may even believe me!

Everyone has a story of how tired they are, how their kids are running them down, and how in love they are with their partner, how they just got married or are planning to do so soon, they have never been to Cape Town, blah, blah blah… So I am taking a different route, instead of jumping on the bandwagon and pleading, telling my sad story too, I have written a poem about our love for you to enjoy.

    Love by Numbers

    Only one meeting
Our two souls meant to be one
    First impression,
    Leaving my heart beating,
    One-ting more
    Seven years together
Our two hearts beating as one
    A lasting love
    Standing the test of time
    Four-ever more
    Sixty years will pass
Our two bodies walk as one
    Life’s journey
    Together hand in hand
    My soul m-eight

Hi, as i told my family the other day i would love a weekend away with my guy,
last year on valentines day i booked a nice restuarant and such a special event for my hubby. On the way there firstly it started raining so as we all know girls get whiney due to hair frizzing and curling after all the hours in front of the mirror trying to look more perfect than you try to every day.

Ok so we got in the car, i was hyper excited because he did not know what i planned. He just went along. Until my excitement came to a stop: As we stopped at a robot, suddenly a guy came and slammed his gun through my guys window and chased us out of the car,it happened so fast i cant event remember opening my door, i just relaized we were standing outside in the rain, looking at how the car drove away and we werent in it. So there we were high-jacked on our way to a romantic date and were left in the rain. Tow trucks took forever and insurance were unreachable in the time of desperate need. After everything we could have gone thorugh to the dinner but the ninght was already spoiled. So we had a miserable night and the hi-jacler rewarded his girl with a new car. Not a pretty picture and definately not a memory i would want to keep in my sub conscience about Valentines :)

Well, plain and simple – We cannot afford an evening out, let alone a weekend away.
We were married last year, in a wedding that was planned in 2 days. Due to financial constraints, all that was done were signatures and a kiss to seal the deal.
Since then, we have not had a single night alone, as we moved in with my mom. We were @ work the next morning after the wedding, as neither of our companies allowed us the day off.
Two days after the wedding, it was my hubby’s birthday, and we could not celebrate it (I made him a card @ work). 6 days after that, was my birthday, and we didnt celebrate that either… Needless to say, Valentine’s Day passed by without nothing more than tender hugs and kisses.
Come 2012, and its all seems like dejavu. Wedding anniversary, and the 2 Birthdays were all swept under the carpert again :(
It would be great to fnally be able to celebrate our wedding as well as my hubby’s milestone 30th birthday… (and maybe my birthday too)

Mate… I am not going to bore you and tell you what a wonderful place the Victorian 1906 Boutique Hotel is, or how my marriage is struggling to survive. I aint gonna tell you my dog is sick, my kids piss me off at times, my job can suck or that i dont have long to live… What i am gonna tell you is that i need a shag for valentines day!! Here’s the rub… My old man’s birthday is on the 14th Feb and every year my wife and i have been persuaded to have drinks with him on his bithday by my mother [been married for 15 years]. Then my wife falls pregnant and our first born, Kian [almost 6yrs old] is also born on Valentine’s Day!! So we havent been able to spend Valentine’s day alone, basically since we met.. My wife has to be one of the unluckiest women on the planet, so i think she deserves the weekend away… at least just for a Valentine’s day shag…

    C’mon help a lad out….

After the longest month EVER (January) I am faced with a few dilemnas.. The missus celebrates a milestone birthday on the 16th Feb, it’s obviously valentines day a few days before, and our 10yr anniversary on the 20th.. To top it all off, there’s a student loan that has to be paid back by the end of Feb as well.. We’re huge Groupon supporters/buyers (and have both our famillies maxing their credit cards out on the site as well) and of course, I’m also a huuuuuge 2OV fan (have submitted plenty content that was published as well)..
So, Groupon & 2OceansVibe.. please help me make this valentines day one to remember!

It was our 3 year wedding anniversary on 24 Jan and we couldnt celebrate because we had a sick toddler and a 2 month old baby who no one was willing to baby sit and my parents were out of the country so we didnt celebrate and this would be an awesome win.

I would love to surprise my boyfriend with a weekend away – just the two of us. We are saving up to buy a car next year AND to get married, so we are on a really tight budget and because of this we are not planning anything this Valentine’s Day. We really could use a break. I mean after dating for four years and breaking up for four years, we managed to find our way back to each other against all odds. Please cut us some slack and give me a chance to say thanks to the love of my life – for giving me the greatest adventure I could ever imagine – and it’s just beginning!

So I’d love to make a grande gesture like this. It would be the cherry on our Valentines to win this getaway to Montagu, and do all of those things that happens on a weekend away…

Hi, to be honest I feel that everyone who is in love and who is with their magical and amazing partner should win this incredible prize. I would say even someone who is single who may fancy someone and have the opportunity to take them would be great. I am one of the many people who love my partner Chris so much, I cherish him with my life. I have recently moved to Cape Town (April 2011) after spending 9 years in the UK. Me and my ex split up new years day 2011 which was heart breaking but for the best. I decided to move back home to SA and flew my gorgeous doggy maximus over with me. We started life in Cape Town and it was a slow process, making friends, seeing new places, most of the time I took Max to the beach and walked alone, had a beer at Montys in blouberg and generally kept myself to myself. Until Chris came along, who I never thought I would gel with an Afrikaans person, as my afrikaans is terrible. But I was wrong, he has so much respect for me and would walk to the end of the earth and even step off it for me. I would like to in return be able to spend a romantic weekend away with him. Its been nearly 3 months, we often spend time where I live at my folks place but its never really romantic…and so I hope and pray I win because I feel having this time away with him, will only build the bridge for our relationship even stronger….
All I can say, is may the luckiest loving couple win :)

It was a traumatic period for all of us as he was almost on death’s door a few times, BUT, due to his fighting spirit and the amazing support from my mom and the rest of the family, he’s almost made a complete recovery. Valentines Day Poem (Why we should win!):

    We’re romantic people,
    But we’re strapped for cash.
    Just not enough,
    In our ‘rainy day’ stash.
    He’s a fisherman
    And I’m online.
    He’s my everything,
    I’m his sunshine.
    We dream of a getaway,
    A chance like this.
Where we can slow dance in a vineyard,

I would love to win this trip for my fiancée and I because we have not been to have a holiday in more than two years now. We both need a break and this would be a perfect time. It was our 4 year anniversary on the 1st of Feb and we have not really had time to celebrate as we would have liked to. We have been through a rough time this past year with family issues and just deserve a break.

    Hi

After 5 years, 7 months and 4 days my fiance and I will be getting married soon:-) aaaand it’s his birthday on the 10th of Feb. He is the most amazing guy in the world. God has truely blessed me with an angel, my best friend and soon to be husband, the one whom I look forward to spending my eternity with. He is so caring and gentle in every way possible, and always puts my needs before his own. He has such a big heart and always gives more than expected, this time I would love the opportunity to give something back to him by surprising him with a romantic Honeymoon getaway, as our budget does not allow for it. Please Groupon! make my dream come true. Many thanx and much love…..

    True story….The end :-)

My partner and I are both hard working indiviuals. We share similar dreams and encourage one another to pursue those dreams:) We believe that love is not all about candle light dinners, long walks on the beach or chocolate. Its about trust, honestly and an undieing love for each other. But to enhance all of that, you do need those breathe taking moments to make it all that much better. & my partner and i would absolutely love the opportunity to create special moments on a journey like this :)

Me and my Fiance never really celebrate Valentines day as we feel that you should be able to show and celebrate your love for each other on anyday. Winning this prize would really be an awesome start to getting a romantic spark going more often as she always complains that I’m not romantic enough. I try but seems I’m just not the type and not really with ideas. Please give me the opportunity to change that.Hope to here from you guys soon ;)

I met my wife 9 years ago. I knew that she will be my wife one day as I fell heads over hels for her when we spoke first over the telephone. It was a long distance relationship as she was in johannesburg and I was in Durban. The relationship was going fine until she set me a challenge that I must come to jhb and work. Within a month I resigned from my job and came to work in jhb. She was surprised and shock. As time went along, we bought a house and move in together. We got married, have two beautiful children. They call me Charlie and they are my angels. At he moment we are having fun, joy, happiness and love together. At the moment she s currently pregnant with our third child. This prize will be the ultimate gift to give her. As during the other pregnancies, she celebrated mother’s day, valentine’s day been pregnant. I just want to tell her that I love you and she completes me.

28 March will mark 10 years since the day that my hubby and I met (incidentally we met on my parents anniversary)- and will be married for 5 years in July. We have an almost 19 month old daughter who still sleeps with us. Since we became pregnant and had our daughter we have not had any time to ourselves – I can’t remember when was the last time we have been out together. Since we are now a one income family it been hard to get away just the two of us. I am now a stay at home wife and mom { I never leave the house :-( }and the hubby works. It will be really great if we can have some time away together – I know the in-laws wouldn’t mind watching our daughter. It will really give the hubby time to relax and not worry about taking care of our little family and me a little breather to have some alone time with my hubby and not to look at the same walls for a few days. Please Groupon give us some time together so we can rekindle the spark we had before becoming parents.

My wife passed away two years ago, I thought that it was the end of my happiness but along came the most wonderful person and she restored my faith in love. We are engaged now but she lives in Cape Town and I’m living in Poet Elizabeth. We see each other once a month as we both has steady jobs which we cannot leave right now. We recently bought a house and every cent we have must be used on the house to create a home for us. We have three kids that’s under the age of 15 who needs to be fed and educated as well. We really need a break but does not have the money for a holiday of any kind.

A very close friend has had a very rough 2011, and 2012 has not been any better. She broke up with her longterm boyfriend, had to move back in with her parents and ontop of that, she lost her 90plus year old grandmother.

Is a wonderful, caring person who has put others before herself for as long as I’ve known her. I think that if I won this, this would be the best present for her. And I think that this would be the beginning of a better 2012 for her.

2 years ago we were given custody of my husbands 2 children due to neglect from the mother , I already had a daughter and I was pregnant with another. I don’t work due to having bi polar, so my husband works his hardest . the 4 children are 6 ,5,5,and 3.
We got married last year and this would be a nice anniversary present for us as we don’t get much time to spend together, he is my rock and i want to tell him how much he means to me and this would be the perfect way.

Would you please consider me as it would be our 4th wedding (16 years if you count every year) anniversary for me and my wife. Our wedding date is the 29th February. We can only celebrate it once every four years. It would be a great surpise to my wife as at the time we got married we did not have the money to go away on a honeymoon. I always say maybe next year. I love her to bits an she never complains. She supports me in verything in life. This would be a great way to do this as it would in a way be our honeymoon 16 years later.

If I were able to win this trip- I would surely give it to 2 special kids that live an informal settlement by my home. I would obviously have to pay my way so I could chaperone :) But I think they would appreciate a taste of the high life. I would hope this trip could show them, this is the types of things they can look forward to if they work hard in studying :) In the afternoons, I help kids in this area with their homework, these two kids maintain PERFECT GRADES despite the hardships of being orphans and living in such tough conditions.

February and March are a time for celebration in our house. It’s Valentines Day, my Birthday and our Wedding Anniversary. My husband and I will have been married for 3 years in March. We never got to have a honeymoon due to the birth of our son, and financial constraints. Although the last three years have been wonderful being married and being parents, we could really do with a bit of “time out”. This would be a wonderful way for us to reconnect and spend quality time together

My wife and i got married September 2007 after seeing each other for 5 years. We had a 18 months old child at the time of getting married who was diagnosed with a sever seazure disorder. My wife’s dream wedding day was heavily over shadowed by our son being admitted to a medi-clinic intensive care unit and a x2 night stay at a popular hotel (which was a wedding gift as our honeymoon) was cancelled to attend to our boy. Now iam not complaining about our boys condition its just during the past five years, and while being the sole income the household while my wife gave up her career to care for our child, i have found it rather difficult to be the romantic my wife so derserves. she is the most romanically inclined person i have ever met- she is the sweetest woman in the world whom i am absolutely in love with. I don’t think that there is another lady in the world that deserves this romanic getaway more.

My husband and I seriously deserve this break. Two months before our wedding in 2009, my husband was retrenched. It was a question of do we continue with the wedding or postpone? As we both did not believe in postponing the wedding, we got married on 21 March 2009. Due to limited finances, it could not take place as planned, but we did it. The period after that up to a month ago, was very despressing and put a lot strain and stress on both of us. We had to pay off all our accumulated debt and had a very low budget to live on every month. It was literally blood, sweat & tears. We reached the point in January this year only, that our accumulated debt due to his retrenchment, was all paid off. We did not have a honeymoon, any holidays or anniversaries, so we are in serious need of time away together to enjoy our marriage. Our 3rd wedding anniversary will be on 21 March 2012, so it will be a perfect opportunity and privilege to win the prize. Most couples would’ve walked away, but we can seriously say if we could have overcome this big obstacle in our lives, our marriage will survive anything. Love conquers all… We are now hoping and praying for any good news! The prize will be awesome!

I know this is a long story but it is a story of a young man who was blessed to marry his best friend – please enjoy.
The story starts with two young kids that went to school together at Ben Viljoen in Groblersdal. Being a few years apart we never really knew each other more than just the timely sighting on a sports field or a stage but we always knew about each other. The story jumps ahead about five years where we accidentally ran into each other in the Virgin Active in Menlyn, Pretoria, where the story truly began.
As life would have it technology played the main role in our interactions over the next few years. We befriended each other on Facebook, chatted for hours on Skype and shared our days and our thoughts via an electronic medium, blissfully unaware of the plot twists still to come in our immediate future. We were happy but we always knew that was something missing.
As the 2010 Soccer World Cup came along and the country was in hassle and bustle, Ulrike being the sports fan she is naturally wanted to go and see some of the games staged in her backyard, and she turned to the master of the negotiations, Pienaar to source her some tickets, which he did. Discussions about Soccer tickets escalated into discussions about ‘one day’ and eventually discussions about life, love and laughter and immediately the attraction between us stated to grow.
Then I started the chivalrous task of courting the lady Ulrike, in the only way I know how, occupying every second she had available with m, myself and I. We went to see the Parlotones, Daughtry, played squash, spent hours on the couch chatting about everything and nothing and the love started to grow.
The daunting task of meeting the parents was still on the horizon… something that I believed went quite well (being a non-avid golfer). The love between us then hit high gear and we realised we had found the person we were going to spend our lives with. We then decided to travel to Sweden over Christmas and then the planning started… as I wanted to make Ulrike my wife and I wanted to ask for her hand in Sweden.
Between booking a romantic suite in the Ice Hotel in Sweden, making her dream ring in secret (something I just had to get perfect), asking parents in a 5 min gap we had alone and ensuring Ulrike that I would never propose in Sweden the plan was set to make Ulrike my wife.
The plan had to be airtight, nobody must know and Ulrike must not find out. Other than me, the ring maker, the reception lady at the Ice Hotel (that I had to beg for a room) and her parents (at the last moment) nobody knew. I had to hide the ring after it was made, transport it safely on the flight and ensure Ulrike would never know about the ring until the last moment.
On the second day in Sweden we flew to Kiruna to go to the Ice Hotel. We arrived in minus 30 degrees, got our snow clothes, I surprised her with a Ice Suite made up of numerous ice sculptures and we went off to our activities, Ice Mobile ride, dinner, walks in the snow, drinks in the Ice Bar and thousands of photos. Finally we had a moment alone in our suite; I faked a flat battery (for the camera) and ran to get the ring. And being dressed like the Oros man helped because I could conceal the ring in my pocket.
As I got back to the suite Ulrike was laying there on the ice bed, on an Elk skin, she looked like an angel, unsuspecting and absolutely beautiful. I smiled and asked her to come over to me, I held her in my arms, I kissed her, looked her in the eyes and I went down on one knee and she immediately started to smile, the kind of smile that I will remember for as long as I live. I then proceeded to made her three promises of life, laughter and love as I looked her in the eyes and held her hands, I took out the ring, opened the box and asked her if she would please marry me. She gave a little jump, smiled and said yes, yes, yes and gave me a huge kiss!
The moment was perfect, the love was pure and the future lies brightly in front of us like the morning star, constant and spectacular.
This is the story of the love between two best friend and how we started our journey, now we want you to write a new chapter in our love by considering us for this unbelievable prize.

It would be the perfect celebration for my boyfriend and I for when we get our board results next week! We’re optimistic about that, and so am I about winning this :) We cannot afford a holiday right now, but I’ve already won 2 nights in Cape Town on another site, and winning this would be so perfect, so that we can have a whole week’s holiday! Think I should book our plane tickets already :)

    Hey guys,

I really would like to spoil my special someone, Leon, for valentines day.
I have always had bad luck on Valentines Days and have never had a good day.
Leon means the world to me and for me to surprise him would be the ultimate gift, especially this one. We have never had a weekend away alone because we dont have the money to do these kinds of things.
I would really appreciate it if I could take him on a special weekend. This will be our first Valentines Day together and I want it to be a memorable one for both of us.

My husband and I both work extemly hard, weekends are always spent working on the house… when we do go away it is to my parents so we never really have time for just me and him! It would be the best to just spend a coulpe of days just me and him, enjoying each others company and relaxing together.
My sister has been staying with us for a month now and it is getting a bit much! We recently got a puupy and have not slept properly sinse then! We need this weekend together, some us time.

A husband walks through the door after a long hard day at work. His wife of nearly four years sits in the living room and out of habit he greets her and walks into the bedroom to put on some comfortable clothes. He doesn’t even notice that she is in a bad mood about something and she doesn’t even try to get up to make him some coffee after a tiring day!

No, they didn’t fall out of Love, they aren’t seeing other people or have lost interest in each other, they both work long hours and when they are at home together they share their attention with two beautiful baby boys, try to clean the house, make supper and wash laundry!

On a normal day they are lucky if they have 10 minutes alone after everything has settled down and before they both fall asleep. They still share everything and are best friends on worst days, but having little to no time “just being” have eluded them for some time now.

Spending time together and apart is very necessary in any healthy relationship, but my hubby and I spend more time apart when we are together at this stage that I feel we really need some time to really be together.

    Hi there.

What can I say about deserving this prize? I guess many people have a lot of valid reasons, but I really hope that we are chosen (I am writing this on behalf of my husband, myself and our child).

To bring you up to speed, my husband and I have had an extremely difficult time trying to conceive. All this put our relationship under tremendous pressure, but my husband stood by me every step of the way.

As if I didn’t feel bad enough, he almost didn’t want to give up on his dream of starting his own company because he was getting an absolutely fantastic salary by any standards, but specifically for Cape Town, and he wanted to ensure that we would always be financially stable and secure.

I got him to follow his dream, but things got very hard for us during that time. He always had hope for a brighter day and he was always happy because he was following his dream, but I would get frustrated because of our financial situation (living off a ridiculous fraction of what he used to get was a massive adjustment). He only worried about how his decision to follow his dream was putting me in such a bad mood.

Then my poor husband has a fright with his parents, so he had to rush in Jo’burg, which also didn’t help matters at all. But now:

    · We have a beautiful 6 month old son.

    · His company is definitely beginning to move forward, after first signed with a group and having promise with new client (something my husband always had faith in because he is actually brilliant at what he does)

    · His mom is feeling much better and is over-joyed to have had the opportunity to name her grand-son

He always made sure I was taken care of. Rent always paid. Food paid. We went on adventures. And all I want is just one chance, no matter how small compared to what he has done for me (and I know he will be eternally gratefully), to thank him for being there for me!

Could you please help me make this possible?

I think this will be the most perfect way to celebrate the ONE year anniversary of the 13th of February when i broke up with my fiance.
This I now realize was the best decision I made in my whole entire life.
My fiance was supposed to move to South Africa last year April and we were to get married middle June 2011.
He thought it would be appropriate to betray me at his farewell party.
Needless to say I sent him packing on 13th February 2011 and I have been more than grateful to God that I did just that.
this getaway will celebrate and mark the great things in my life still to come.
What a nice way to stick it to him and say good riddance.

Well we’re in the same boat as many of ur poor sleep deprived, life deprived, tired, stretched too thin parents desperately wanting time away!

My hubby and I have been married almost 3 years, our 2 little monkeys are really sweet and we love them to bits but we have literally had NO time to be alone together in absolute ages. Our fault really since I gave up work to be a full time Mom and now cant imagine doing anything but this full time! The thing is we need a reality check and I think some time away together would give us a chance to talk, reconnect and maybe figure out who we are to each other again…hopefully the wine wont result in baby number 3 … but there’s no harm in a bit of love right??

I would love to put on a little black number for my luv, do my hair and make up and for a change not smell like vomit from my 6 month old or have snot marks on my pants from my 2 year old. I’d like to think i can still be sexy for my very hardworking Man.

He deserves it more than I do (ok maybe not) but please give us a chance to rekindle our flame!

Oh and I think my Mother needs to put up with my boys and their naughty tricks for a day or two since she’s the one spoiling them!

    May the best romantic win!!!

After a 10yr marriage which never felt right and an emotional and painful divorce, I finally met someone who completes and understands me in ways I could never explain. We’ve spent every moment of the last year we could together, with all the mush and lovey-dovey stuff that makes most want to throw up (but who cares what others think!). A weekend away to The Victorian 1906 Boutique Hotel in Montagu would be a perfect getaway for us to spend that extra time together, experiencing all that the hotel has to offer.

    Good day.

This year my wife (married for just over a year and currently 1600km PLUS from where I am working) and I will not be able to spend any special day together: NO Valentines, NO Wedding anniversary, NO Birthdays… NOTHING….

My wife had to stay behind in Potchefstroom, while I am working in Saldanha… This means that we will not be able to see each other often or for extended periods of time.

I would love to have an oppertunity to Spoil her and show that I appreciate all the things she does for me and to make up for the fact that we will only spend about 30 – 40 days of the 365 available days of the year together!!!

Thank you for the oppertunity to enter the compitition!!!!

Alright, so I don’t think the anniversary sob story is enough to cut it (even though we do celebrate our 4th wedding anniversary in Feb), so how about this (because I think you’ll agree it’s worthy of a breakaway weekend mission.)

In January we rented out our beautiful house in Muizies for year, packed up our lives (and our animals), sold one of our cars and moved back in with the folks (animals included). This was supposed to be for a month, while we waited for the work visas which were ‘definitely going to be accepted THAT week’. Except, due to the incompetency of the UK border agency, they were instead denied. The appeal process could take 4-6 months. Till then, we are living in a room, in my folks house, surrounded by all our worldly possessions, while we wait for the universe to cut us some slack.

I suppose it could be worse, we could be homeless. Thanks mom for putting us up.

I don’t have a long sad story about why I should win, but I do have an amazing boyfriend whom I absolutely adore. He does so much for me throughout the year and I’m never able to show him exactly how much I love and appreciate him and all he does for me. I’m a student at stellar university so needless to say I’m flat broke and won’t be able to afford anything quite so extravagant for valentines day. My boyfriend actually lives in montagu, but he always dreads going back home as he doesn’t have a lot of great memories in his home town. I’d like to make some new memories with him in his beautiful home town and share an amazing time with a truly amazing man. Please give me the chance to finally be able to show my gratitude and love to my better half, I’ve never won anything before, but this prize would definitely make up for all the unanswered competition entries..

They say behind every successful man, is a good woman. She catches his dreams, believes in him, inspires, helps motivate and multiply him into the absolute best he can be so that he can and wants to do his best by you and everyone else.

Woman have strength that amaze men, they can handle trouble and carry heavy burdens, they hold happiness, love and opinions. They smile when feeling like screaming, they sing when they feel like crying, cries when they happy and sometimes laughs when they are afraid.

They fight for what they believe in, stand up against injustice, don’t take “no” for an answer when they see a better solution, give themselves so that their family can thrive, and even as different individuals with different interests and personalities they still believe that friendship is real. Their love is unconditional and even through their hardships and pain they find the strength to go on with their lives. The only thing wrong with us as women…..we sometimes forget what we are worth.

So today as a woman i embrace my worth, and deserve to win this amazing Valentine’s Day weekend away to celebrate everything that makes me a woman, a mother, a sister, a friend and a companion to those who make my life beautiful and meaningful.

Who can find a virtuous woman? For her worth is far above rubies. (Proverbs 31:10-31)
