Do Ideas: A Book About Doing Your Ideas

A very stimulating new book has just launched: Do Ideas. The book, curated by Don Packett, features contributions from some of South Africa’s brightest minds. They want you to embrace your ideas: “don’t be afraid”, they say. The best bit? It’s free, and online. Go on, you want to have a look.
The array of contributors is vast, and includes input from experts within the aviation, performing arts, medical and digital industries, to name a few.
Names like Mandy de Waal, Brendan Jack, Aki Anastasiou and Mark Stopforth should jump out at you.
And of course, The Emperor, Seth Rotherham, speaks to you too.
This will get you started:
Ideas are everywhere. Everyone has them. If you look at something that isn’t working correctly, or optimally, and consider a possible solution to fixing it, you’ve had an idea. You have them all day, every day. The problem, however, is that the percentage of these ideas that we actually act upon and execute is minimal. Extremely minimal.
Why? Well, everyone has their own reasons why, of course. Time, resources, fear of failure. The list goes on. So ideas sit in our heads, stagnating, and are filed away in the “One day…” cabinet of our brains. A very dark place to be.
Through a number of extreme varying perspectives on how to get things done, the aim of this book is for any person reading it to resonate with at least one contribution, and realise that people from all walks of life, from all around the world, are doing ideas.
And so can you.
Do Ideas is designed to encourage every person with an idea, to do that idea.
Basically, if you have an idea, you should do it.
