David Fox, the victim of a heartless crime by Placebo
Do you remember Placebo’s 1996 debut album, the one with the little boy in the red jersey pulling a face? Well, that boy is all grown up now, and it turns out that life wasn’t too kind to him. When life gets you down, what are you to do but sue the band that stuck your face on their album 16 years ago?
David Fox, who lives in Scunthorpe in the UK, blames the use of his picture on most of his life’s misery. He states that the use of the picture has caused him to be bullied at school, and that it has led to his unemployment. He is now forced to live off of his mother’s savings, whilst struggling to find work as a chef.
The picture that ruined David Fox’s life. Behold the anguish.
I can see his problem – if he was to come up to me looking for work I would immediately recognise him as the boy on the album cover. Who wants to employ someone that was on the cover of a CD? They can be such divas, making all kinds of ridiculous demands. It’s really just more trouble than it’s worth.
He claims that the use of the picture without his permission led to a long string of bullying in school, eventually causing him to drop out. He trained as a chef, but no longer has a job. He is currently scraping together all of his mother’s savings to lodge a suit against the band next month.
