McIntosh Polela Suspended Over Jub Jub ‘Vaseline’ Tweet

Spokesman for the Hawks, McIntosh Polela, has been suspended for a joke he made about Vaseline and convicted murderer Jub Jub.
Beeld reported that Polela had been suspended for tweeting that he hoped that Jub Jub’s supporters had provided him with Vaseline for his time in prison.
Initially, Polela didn’t apologise for the tweet that came close to insinuating prison rape, but he did later retract the tweet, and said it was in “bad taste”.
When Beeld got hold of Polela yesterday for comment on his suspension, he reacted with shock and claimed he had been on study leave, but refused to comment on the matter.
According to the Afrikaans broadsheet, national police spokesman, Brig. Phuti Setati, said Polela has been suspended under the police’s communications regulations.
Police can not say more about the case because it is an internal matter.
When the incident happened, Polela took a lot of verbal abuse on the matter on social media networks, and Nando’s even climbed on board.
