The annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York took place yesterday. It was attended by more than three million people and watched by a further 50 million on TV.
Some of the giant balloons that featured as part of the show included Papa Smurf, Hello Kitty, Charlie Brown, Mickey Mouse, and the Pillsbury Doughboy. Several celebrities were also spotted, including singer Carly Rae Jepsen, Jimmy Fallon, Whoopi Goldberg, and Flo Rida. Check out all the madness in the gallery below.
The New Yorkers certainly deserved this cheer after all the destruction left by Hurricane Sandy. During his speech, Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg also praised police, firefighters, armed services personnel, sanitation workers and volunteers involved in the storm response.
