Local car-purchase start up, 7days.co.za lifted off exactly 365 days ago. They have officially survived the 12 month timeline of death that so many businesses fall prey to. Not only have they survived, but they’re starting to eat a lot of their competition’s lunch.
With a weakening Rand and rising petrol prices, consumers are looking to cut prices at every possible turn. And with vehicle ownership remaining a necessity for life in a driving nation like South Africa, people are going to buy the car that costs them less. Especially when it’s still a great car.
Which is what makes the 7 Days business model so genius. They sell high end cars – the only difference is that you, the customer, will pay thousands of Rands less for them.
How? 7 Days agents haggle with dealerships on your behalf. Their goal is always to get a price below the lowest listing they can find for the same car. If they get the price, they list it on their site. That’s right – they won’t list a car on their site if it isn’t the lowest listed price for that vehicle in South Africa.
Recent deals have pegged luxury sedans for R50,000 less.
In a tough economy, price wins. Price always wins.
