Dove’s latest ‘Real Beauty’ campaign makes women look dumb and gullible. Dove follows women by using video diaries, as they embark on testing Dove’s latest product, RB-X. Has the skin care brand gone too far?
The deception is obvious to anyone with any inkling of knowledge of human psychology. What Dove employed with their RB-X patch is what is termed a placebo effect. Yes, the “revolutionary” new beauty patch does nothing, which they reveal later to the women in their study.
What was an attempt at empowering women, comes off as a slap in the face to the participants and their intelligence.
