Last year Amazon CEO, Jeff Bezos announced plans for an aerial drone delivery system, titled Amazon Prime Air. It turns out Amazon’s flying drones are no joke, according to what Jeff Bezos revealed in a recent shareholder’s letter.
In the letter to Amazon shareholders, Jeff Bezos stated that Amazon is serious about providing a better service to their customers. The letter detailed that Amazon, through a bunch of different ways, are trying to take package delivery into their own hands – Amazon Prime Air being one of them.
Amazon Prime Air might still be waiting for approval from the Federal Aviation Administration, but that hasn’t stopped the online retailer from developing their drone technology.
The Prime Air team is already flight testing our 5th and 6th generation aerial vehicles, and we are in the design phase on generations 7 and 8,” the letter stated.
Amazon is clearly actively pursuing drone delivery, to give companies like UPS and FedEx a run for their money.
