This is when the power of social media becomes way too apparent. Thanks to the likes of Facebook & Twitter, a teenager in Ontario managed to attract 2000 of his peers to his parents not-yet-fully-built- mansion. The result was rather expensive.
The teen used the hashtag #Mansionparty in his tweets and other social media posts promoting the event. The problem was that the party was being held at his out-of-town parents mansion which is still under construction. Well, it was complete enough to warrant it being called a mansion , but incomplete enough to warrant the staircase being far too precarious to safely stand one drunk teenager, let alone a hundred.
The damage to the building is over $70 000 – so if you have ever wondered what would happen if you decided to invite some teenagers over for a session of heavy drinking and revelry in your medium-sized flat, you could do a vague conversion and it still equates to the same conclusion: Teenagers + booze + no supervision = very expensive.
Best part of this entire story? His moms comment as she face-palmed herself when approached by the media, ” I told him he could have a few friends over”. Classic.
