Many will say they’re upset he never succeeded but it turns out Dylann Roof’s hate-filled rampage at a Charleston church was supposed to end with his suicide.
Kevin Singleton, the son of one of the nine victims, says that the only reason Roof made it out of the church alive was because he ran out of bullets. NYD News reports:
“He pointed the gun at his head and pulled the trigger, but it went ‘click. His plan was never to leave the church”.
Whilst he will now face a no doubt high-profile and protracted court case perhaps the most damning bit of evidence Roof leaves behind is the website he created in February. The site shows his twisted thinking and is full of the hallmarks of a neo-Nazi follower.
Singleton claims that Roof spared the life of 69-year-old Polly Shepphard so that she could describe the gruesome attack to the world, only to fail at taking is own life:
[Singleton’s] account is based on what Sheppard told him and other families.
Roof eventually bolted from the church and fled in a black Hyundai, sparking a multi-state manhunt.
We know that he was found around 350 kilometres from the scene of the crime the next day. What we don’t know is what other skeletons this sicko may have buried in his closet.
