After Mr Trump won 44% of Nevada on Tuesday, former Mexican president Vicente Fox urged all the Hispanics living in the land of dreams to “open their eyes”. Speaking to Jorge Ramos, one of the most trusted names in Latin news whom Trump kicked out of a press conference last year with the phrase “Go back to Univision”, Fox was having none of it.
He completely rejected Trump’s claim that Mexico would pay for a wall to be built between the two countries. Feeling so strongly about his notion, he even threw in an F-bomb.
I’m not going to pay for that f—— wall. He should pay for it. He’s got the money.
Even while he expressed alarm that Hispanics were showing support for a “false idol”, Fox claimed that he was “not at all” worried about Trump winning the presidency.
Instead, he suggested, that Hispanic voters should vote “to defend this very same nation that is holding you.”
This nation is going to fail if it goes into the hands of a crazy guy. What is Trump? He’s not a Republican. Absolutely not.
He’s not a Democrat. He’s just himself. He’s ego-centric.
Trump, of course, responded quickly via his favourite social media platform, Twitter:
