It has just been announced that South Africa is one of the 20 biggest drinking nations in the world.
Ranked at number nine, our alcohol consumption rate has increased from 11.0 litres per capita in 2014 to 11.5 in 2015. Tied with Poland on the world scale, it makes SA the third largest drinking nation in Africa – following Namibia and Gabon, respectively.
But here’s something you didn’t know (kidding): more than a quarter of SA drinkers are considered binge drinkers.
