Say what you want about the Springboks, or the performance of some of our Super Rugby sides (except the Lions of course), the fact remains that our schoolboy rugby is amongst the best in the world.
Many overseas touring teams leave with their tails between their legs, but the most classic encounters are often those between our local heavyweights.
This weekend all eyes will be on the two top ranked teams in the country, a week before they come head to head on the 6th of August.
Paarl Boys’ High, ranked the number one schoolboy side in the country, perhaps have a tougher draw against SACS away.
Stellenberg, who play second-ranked Paarl Gimnasium, will also have a real battle on their hands.
Both teams will look at their matches as preparation for the massive encounter to come, and you can watch both of those streamed live over the weekend.
That’s courtesy of School Sport Live, who are playing out of their boots with their live streams. The Paarl Gim – Stellenberg coverage will begin from 12:00:
Coverage of that Paarl Boys’ – SACS encounter will kick off at 12:15:
You know who else will probably be watching? Those scouts that are snapping our schoolboy talent on massive contracts (HERE) – I guess it saves them the trouble of having to attend in person.
Give that future talent the once over on the weekend, and see who all those overseas clubs are snatching up.
