James Corden is probably most known for his Carpool Karaoke segment on his late night show, and although he’s relatively new to American audiences he’s been around the UK block for a while.
Case in point this interview from 1995, when a fresh-faced Corden sat down with crooner Meat Loaf. He might not get off to the best start, but I think Meat Loaf warms to him during their brief exchange.
A quick sidebar on Corden’s rise to fame before we see this interview – here’s the Daily Mail:
The Brit’s first stage appearance was at the age of 18 in the 1996 musical Martin Guerre, while his early TV work included Teachers, Hollyoaks and Little Britain.
A part in Fat Friends and the stage production of History Boys raised his profile, with James then going on to star and co-write hit show Gavin and Stacey.
His birthday celebrations also included Coldplay and 50,000 of their fans singing Happy Birthday on Sunday night at The Rose Bowl.
Meat Loaf time.
