Good news, our money-making friends to the north, you guys made a top 20 list you can finally be proud of.
The Telegraph decided to compile a list of the 20 cheapest cities in the world, and by now you know who made an appearance.
Using the Economist Intelligence Unit’s Worldwide Cost of Living Survey, which ranks destinations according to the cost of more than 160 items, Jozi pops in at number 17.
We don’t want to steal their thunder so here’s what they had to say:
First of all, can whoever wrote ‘as a Cape Townian’ take a long, hard look at themselves in the mirror? Sies, just do better.
Also maybe avoid using the words ‘dumps’ and ‘kitschy’ when paying praise to a place, but we get their drift.
Pretoria is in at number 11, just as an aside, but let’s run through the top three:
3. Mumbai
2. Bangalore
1. Lusaka
I dunno, someone should compile a list of the lists listing these things and see how they stack up against one another.
Anyway, well played Jozi.
