Ding dong, the evil dictator has been ousted.
In the days and weeks to come, discussions will turn to how the soon-to-be president Emmerson Mnangagwa, or ‘The Crocodile’, is himself a horrid man with a horrid history.
Sure, that conversation must be had, but for now let’s just let our friends from up north have their moment in the sun.
Man, did they have a good ‘ol jol last night when the news that Bob had resigned broke.
First up, the moment his resignation letter was read out in Parliament:
The ecstatic moment inside Zimbabwe’s parliament when Mugabe’s resignation letter was read. In the gallery, people chanted “Ngwena” (Crocodile) – the nickname of Emmerson Mnangagwa, the likely successor to Mugabe. pic.twitter.com/kyoYD7o7aM

Next the scenes on the street in Harare, where the relief and joy was clear for all to see:
More footage:
Years ago, at the Zimbabwe Beit Bridge border post, I made a jibe about the portrait of Bob hanging above those stamping my passport. I was given a swift elbow in the ribs by my father, which is maybe why I love this video so much.
Try not to smile at the moment they yanked his portrait off the wall at the Rainbow Towers hotel and stomped all over it:
Get stuck in.
Before we go, let’s enjoy a few memes via Times LIVE:
