From an internet meme to the star of his own movie, Slender Man is on his merry way, folks.
I don’t know about you guys, but I’m bloody effin’ terrified.
No doubt you’ve heard of this blank-faced, black-suited man with tentacles, who burst onto the scene in 2009 as a ‘creepypasta’, a term for horror-related legends passed around the internet.
Now ol’ Slendy is taking over Hollywood, one tentacle at a time.
Just when I had my fair share of fear-inducing flicks such as Hereditary and Along Came the Devil, the latest Slender Man trailer is guaranteed to give you nightmares even while you’re awake.
Here’s the plot, according to Mashable:
Set in a small town in Massachusetts, the film sees a group of friends perform a summoning ritual in an attempt to debunk Slender Man lore. One of them goes missing, so the group begins to suspect she might be a victim of the dreaded Slender Man itself.
Sounds like standard horror fare on the surface, but if the trailer is anything to go by, you’re in for a terrifying ride.
I mean, did you see the above image? That’s just the tip of the iceberg.
Have at the trailer, dear horror fans:
Well, I didn’t plan on sleeping tonight anyway. Or tomorrow, for that fact.
Slender Man will be released in American cinemas on August 10.
