South Africa’s PSL might have only just kicked off, but already we have our first contender for Shibobo of the Season.
Shibobo – you know, a nutmeg, or passing the ball between the opponent’s legs.
During last night’s Mamelodi Sundowns and Polokwane City showdown, which Sundowns won 2-0, Themba Zwane left opposition defender Sibusiso Mbonani with a faceful of grass.
The skilful Sundowns winger swerved around Mbonani, and it’s not hard to see why the commentators found it so amusing.
My favourite line is “carpet burn on the face”, which is pretty ruthless:
Zwane ended up winning the man of the match award, although he might want to keep an eye open for law enforcement:
