Woman, 20, Survives Car Wreck As Jaguar Goes Over Bakoven/Oudekraal Cliff [Photos]

A 20-year-old woman survived a crash over the cliff into the rocks, between Bakoven and Oudekraal, along Cape Town’s Radlantic Seaboard on Saturday morning. She was airlifted to hospital and her condition is serious, but stable.

Tomorrow, SA Maritime Safety Authorities will make another attempt to remove the stranded Eihatsu Maru from Clifton’s First beach. Last night, 2oceansVibe spoke to one of the men in charge, Samsa’s chief operations officer, Sobantu Tilayi. Many questions still remain about the reasons why the captain grounded the vessel, but Tilayi said the operation has now reached a critical stage.

Just after midday on Saturday, at Camps Bay, hundreds of surfers paddled out into the bay to celebrate the life of David Lilienfeld. He passed away last week after being bitten by a shark at Koegel bay. Sea Rescue boats from Bakoven and Table Bay were also there on behalf of the NSRI. Cleaner Bathing Water In The Pipeline For Cape Town

Here’s some great news for the swimmers amongst you. The City of Cape Town is about to launch a first-of-its-kind initiative to clean up the water running into three popular bathing areas. The project aims to improve the quality of storm water at two outlet sites in Three Anchor Bay and another at Rocklands, between Sea Point and Mouille Point.

Hannah Rhind, daugher of Cape Town businessman Philip Rhind, was the target of a petrol bomb thrown at her father’s Clifton house earlier this year. We know this because her name was on the bomb. And in a rather embarrassing turn of events for Shumsheer Singh Ghumman, that little personalised touch also led to the speedy identification of him as the perpetrator.
