It’s time to start getting a little worried, gang. Soon that Saturday morning English breakfast is going to be missing its most vital ingredient, and your bacon and egg roll will become nothing more than just an egg roll. It’s coming – the porkpocalypse.

Restaurants are quite possibly one of the oldest forms of social setting. You get to indulge many pleasures at once – eating, drinking, conversations, romance, and you don’t even have to do the dishes afterwards. Modern times have ruined us though. Interaction takes place from the bright screen of a smartphone, begging for us to check our emails, just “quickly reply” to that instant message, or check-in on Facebook.
Okes, it is time to impress. It’s National Braai Day on 24 September, and my good friend, Jan Braai, who started the initiative for all of you, has written a book called Fireworks to help you braai more like he would.

That’s right, beautiful angels – Wednesday night is all about you at the Mount Nelson Planet Bar. The guys should probably be there too, if they know what’s good for them. But they won’t be getting a complimentary gin cocktail when they arrive – that’s just for the girls. What’s more, this vibe is carrying […]
The seaside town of Pringle Bay in the Western Cape is outraged at a National Geographic documentary that used food to lure baboons to a specially modified and fully furnished cottage in the area. The cottage is part of the Cape Hangklip Hotel, and the television series, Big Baboon House, raises ethical questions.
Entries are now open for an epic Friday on 6 July in Cape Town and Joburg – that’s right gang, this time we’re spreading the love! We’ve always felt that life was too short for a five-day workweek. Much like the folks at the Jack Daniel Distillery, who celebrate Fridays with an age old tradition […]
Last week, on the IanF Show on 2oceansVibe Radio, Spike and IanF ate chilli because they needed something to keep them warm during Winter Week! Winter Week nestled perfectly around the winter solstice, which was on Friday, the shortest day, and the longest night – yuck! What better way to keep warm than with a […]
America’s gay hating public have called for a boycott after cookie company Oreo posted a picture in support of Gay Pride on it’s website. I’d have thought it would have been the racists, seeing as an Oreo is all about vanilla sandwiched between two delicious pieces of chocolate wafer. Here’s what all the fuss was about.
Fruit and Veg City has been taking a social media lambasting from irate consumers that caught the fresh food retailer selling endangered fish species in a few of their stores. Debate was intense, with both customers and Fruit and Veg City getting in on the action. The retailer has since issued an official statement detailing how they plan to handle the situation of endangered fish “slipping through their nets”.
CLICK HERE for a new incredible fact EVERY DAY! Being in my *cough* early 30s, I am often blown away by the youth of today and their lack of knowledge when it comes to important pieces of life facts and information. The other day I asked SilverStreak if he was aware of Gloria Estefan’s hit […]

Did you just get a little shiver up your spine? I did. I really did. Do you remember that amazing time that we shared together last year? I remember it, so fondly. I really do. We were building something, something good, something great – a movement. A movement based on the premise that no one […]
It’s a fraught world out there, friends. I don’t know about you, but I’ve noticed a flurry of activity around Father’s Day this year. It’s like for the first time in a long time, people are really considering what it means to be a man. A man, in this time and place. A man, versus […]
Trying to avoid the title of White Elephant trainers, the City of Cape Town is considering turning Cape Town Stadium “into a hub of commercial activity”. The idea is to introduce restaurants, night clubs, sports bars and coffee spots to the stadium to make back some of the R44,6 million a year running costs.
A 2oceansViber recently sent us this picture and we had to share it. It’s nice to know that when you’re stranded on a paradise island, you can still get “Elegant C0ck”, and that the quality is guaranteed. Apparently it’s some sort of mosquito coil. I can’t see the relevance to the name. [Thanks Adrian!]
He may be worth $20 billion, but when Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg took his new wife, Priscilla Chan to lunch during their honeymoon in Rome he spent 32 Euros – and elected not to leave a tip. The cash-flush couple’s bill came to 32 euros after a lunch of deep-fried artichokes, fried pumpkin flowers, and […]

Fat people take up a lot of space on the plane. I mean, how many times have you had to fold your arms so they can merely fit into their space, and yours. For a long time, we’ve all wanted them to have their own fat seats when they fly. Finally! This is a reality. Thank you, Airbus.
Remember that little chat we had regarding productivity last week? You may have remembered that I tend to take a stroll, and eat a tasty snack when my creative juices run dry. It’s a physical solution to a mental problem, and it works, really well. Well, sure, it’s a great solution, but the weather has […]
