I leave in a couple weeks for London, where I will be interviewing Daniel Craig on behalf of Ster-Kinekor for his new movie – a remake of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. These ‘junkets’ as they’re called, feature journalists from around the world who come in, one after the other, to interview the actors for 5-7 minutes each. The actors sit there and churn out answers to hum-drum questions. Being an intrepid “new media” company, we want to stand out. We want Daniel Craig to remember 2oceansvibe. We want him to LOVE the vibe! And we need YOUR help to do it!

Apart from chatting about the new movie, we will, for example, ask him to give us an example of a South African accent. You do know he played Sgt. Botha in the screen adaptation of the book The Power Of One, right? Incidentally, the main character, PK, was played by Stephen Dorff, who also shared the screen with Morgan Freeman. No spice.

So, back to the D-Train.

Boschendal has cleaned up rather nicely at this year’s Wine Makers’ Choice competition.

Hot on the heels of winning the Best Vintage Cap Classique, the Grande Cuvée Brut 2007 scooped a coveted Diamond Award at the 2011 WMC.

Cheers to that.

The Grande Cuvée Brut 2007 is one of only three Cap Classique Sparkling Wines that cracked a Diamond Award, which pretty much establishes Boschendal at the fore of the MCC category.

The award is especially awesome when one considers that the Winemakers’ Choice Awards is the only award show judged exclusively by winemakers.

I had a dinner party last night at my penthouse at the Cape Royale Hotel, and I must just say that the star of the show (besides the Jack Daniel’s, Corona beer, Boschendal bubbly and La Fee absinthe) was “The World In Vogue” coffee table book I bought for La Muse a while ago. It’s so awesome, many of the guests were rubbing it against their bodies. One of the girls licked the cover. But that might have been the absinthe talking.

I see the book is available at Kalahari.

I’m not sure how readily the service is available, but La Muse and I took (stole) one of the picnic baskets from The Roundhouse to the beach this weekend. My God, when we announced the Boschendal Cooling Towers competition, we didn’t expect anything this world class to appear!

We asked you, the 2oceansvibe readers to send your best footage of the Athlone Cooling Towers (or, rather, the “Ladies of Athlone” – a title which I have NEVER heard before) going down last Sunday. Obviously the actual footage captured was few and far between, given that the Mayor of Cape Town blasted them four minutes ahead of schedule.

Lucky Crispian A from iKraal managed to not only capture the event, but he also took things to the next level.

How absolutely uncontrollably and ridiculously AWESOME is this video?

Well done, Crispian, you are a WINNER!!! You can expect a case of Boschendal bubbly any day soon!

But I have a feeling things could go a little further than that..

We’re pretty blown away by the response to the “Seth Song” we’ve been playing fairly regularly, over at 2oceansvibe Radio. It’s not only a damn funny tune, but I tell you what – it’s got the heads bopping too! Apparently The Assembly lost their minds to it last Saturday!

The guys behind the tune are none other than I Scream And The Chocolate Stix – the same guys who gave you the sensational online viral tune My Cape Town.

People LOVE that tune – including the likes of Helen Zille, I might add!

All protocol was relaxed as we granted one photographer and virtual-tour expert (Panascape) unprecedented access to my suite at the Cape Royale hotel. As it is my primary residence, you can imagine what intimate never-seen-before details were caught on camera.

The virtual tour itself let’s you cruise around the Cape Royale hotel (spinning 360 degrees up AND down in every room), with “hotspots” which allow you access to the next room – ultimately leading you up to my private penthouse..

You will notice not only the purple icon in the top left portion of the picture (allowing you to “jump” to the next inter-leading room) but also action icons beneath the main image, letting you move around the current room; up, down, left, right- zooming in and out.

Zooming in and out comes in quite handy – especially when you make your way from the lobby, into the elevator and through to my suite. Once you get there, I’d advise you to pop into the bedroom, as I have a bit of a surprise for you..

And don’t even get me started on the bathroom.

No, I’m serious – there is a bubble bath shot.. Let alone the lingerie shot taken in the kitchen..

There are also incredible vistas of the mother city, taken from the Sky Bar and pool deck, as well as from my balcony, showing never-seen-before footage of the World Cup Stadium in all her glory, at night.

The genius who made this for me also managed to add hotspots to all the various 2oceansvibe brands which are always found dotted around my life. This allows you to follow-up on those brands, should you wish, simply by clicking the green icons dotted around the virtual tour.
