Some you chaps will recall that we recently featured 2oceansvibe partner, Buchulife’s endorsement by a brace of top South African celebrities and sportpeople, including DJ Fresh, Jordy Smith, Roxy Louw, Jacques Kallis, to name a few. The fit makes perfect sense – Buchulife is good for you. Sports people dig being healthy. And so should you.

With that in mind, we suppose it’s not terribly surprising to note that Buchulife is grabbing the attention of international sports stars and brands across the seas. Take Jim Jonsin, for example.

Jonsin’s team took to Daytona’s legendary speedway, competing in the Grand-AM 200, an event that attracts hundreds of thousands of adrenalin-pumped fans.

Brands like Oakley and the iconic rap producer Dr Dre, are already part of Jonsins sponsors. And now, so is Buchulife, which is rapidly making strides across the USA. For those of you who don’t know, Buchulife is a newly launched range of scientifically researched nutraceuticals derived from the buchu plant, indigenous to the Western Cape and currently taking the world by storm.

The medicinal properties of buchu have been documented for over 300 years, being previously exported all over the world and known in Europe as Noble’s tea, due to only the nobility being able to afford its healing qualities.

Buchu is recognised as South Africa’s most valuable medicinal plant and is now making a comeback through the Buchulife range of products, proving a natural solution to healthy living.

I’ve got some good news and some bad news. The good news is we have found the full trailer of that “Ferris Bueller 2″ teaser we saw the other day. The bad news is it’s not a feature film – it’s just Honda using Matthew Broderick in a new TV commercial. It’s pretty damn good too, as Ferris experiences similar things to his younger self – but this time he’s skipping work, not school.

I was grabbing a couple poached eggs at Cecconi’s with The Big H just off Saville Row – Mayfair – this weekend. We spotted a new white Range Rover Evoque struggling to park opposite us. The driver was a Brazilian woman and, after a few attempts, her companion jumped out to help direct her. What do you know – it turns out it was none other than F1 “supremo,” Bernie Ecclestone!

I took these pics of the 81 year-old playing car guard for his 32 year-old girlfriend, Fabiana Flosi.

The MINI E may well be the car that saves the world. It is currently at COP17 – the world’s climate change conference currently underway in Durban. This is quite a special little toy. Let me tell you a bit about it.

According to plugincars.com, the 2010 Mini E – an all-electric version of the Mini Cooper – is capable of more than 100 miles on a charge, and boasts a 0 to 60 mph time of 8.5 seconds with a top speed of 95 miles per hour. These numbers fall short of specs for the standard MINI Cooper, but the Mini E will grant performance – especially acceleration from zero – much better than virtually all compacts or subcompacts currently on the road today.

They’ve been testing these puppies for the last two years. BMWblog.com had this to say:

In 2009, BMW launched their first electric vehicles trial in the United States. More than 1,800 people and organizations applied to be part of the field trial of 450 MINI Es. From that, 450 were selected based on specific criteria that included the amount and type of use in which they would engage, home suitability to installation of a fast charging system and desire to be engaged in a field trial that requires continual feedback.

Nearly two years later, the MINI E adventure is approaching the finish line. MINI E drivers provide ongoing feedback that has already proven invaluable to the development work being done by the BMW for the upcoming i3 electric vehicle and the 2012 ActiveE.
