This past weekend, Catholic parishioners across America were read a letter written by the church leadership urging them to stand up against a new ruling by the Obama administration which would require all employers to provide healthcare plans which include contraceptive coverage.

The “birther” movement is back in the news, trying to prove US President Barack Obama is not an American citizen by birth. He’s been ordered to court in Georgia on Thursday to hear yet another charge that he’s not who he says he is.

Political views and campaign promises aside, Barack Obama seems like a pretty cool guy. Often he indulges not-so-serious questions, jokes with reporters and he always seems to keep a level head in just about any situation. At a recent fundraiser in Harlem he once again demonstrated his ability to keep it real.

A new fast-food restaurant in Beijing has caused controversy for using a cartoon caricature of Barack Obama in an imitation of KFC’s Colonel Sanders’ face. Its name, Obama Fried Chicken (OFC), has also upset some people. The slogan reads: “We’re so cool, aren’t we?” Magic.

Nelson Mandela is a more visible world leader than Barack Obama, the Dalai Lama and the Pope. This is according to the Reputation Institute, which has done a perception assessment of 54 individuals currently considered to be global leaders. Not bad for a man who retired from presidency in the 1990s.

With this Sunday marking the ten year anniversary of 9/11, police say they are beefing up their presence in Washington DC and New York City. I’m pretty sure naming it Tochka G, meaning G-spot in Russian, and covering the walls with images of Putin sword-dick-fighting Obama, should do the trick.

Barack and Michelle Obama received the royal-est of welcomes today in London, when they visited Buckingham Palace to meet with Prince William and new wife, Duchess Catherine. I’ve been really intrigued by the whole Osama getting what was coming to him thing, as I’m sure you are. Even the Bedouin people of the Sahara must surely know by now that Osama bin Laden has bitten the dust. So you’d think a sentence like “Osama bin Laden is Dead” wouldn’t pose too great a challenge for the press. But what countless newspapers, TV stations, radio stations and websites didn’t count on is how easily that simple sentence can become “Obama bin Laden is Dead.”

A photo purporting to depict a very dead Osama bin Laden has been proved as a fake. Although it must be noted that only the photo is a fake and the man himself is very much a corpse, somewhere at the bottom of the ocean.
