I found this photo lying around and realised that it was taken for you. I wanted to show you a great example of how one should dress up when going to the shops on a Saturday or Sunday morning in Cape Town. I call it, “LA Style,” because it’s pretty much how everyone dresses in Los Angeles when they go to the shops. They’ve basically got a competition going on (which they would never admit to) which calls for every citizen to put together the most ludicrous combination of clothing, in an attempt to out-ludicrous each other.

Now I’m not talking about shopping on Rodeo Drive or Robertson Boulevard, I’m talking about those quick stints down to the nearest grocer to pick up bread or milk or a newspaper – stuff that we also do in Cape Town. And what a great opportunity for us to roll with some “LA Style!”

Seth prepares to go to the shops – “LA Style”

As you will notice in the image above, I went with a pair of snake-skin Woolies slippers, combined with the tartan GH Bass trackie pants. A bit of colour never hurts and definitely secures some bonus points – hence the shocking pink Superman T-shirt. The new Prada shades and Puma jacket add some all-important “flash” to the ensemble and, with a tight joint under the bonnet, you’re good to go!

Come on gang, raise your game..

By the way, first prize will always go to the true essence of “LA Style” – which is wearing a dressing gown to the shops. You just can’t beat it – it’s like the Joker in the pack. I often walk down to vida e from the Cape Royale in my dressing gown.

What a rush..

ps. that photo was taken during a bad patch. I am FAR more tanned now – in Provence..

Last night’s sunset from The Safe House

March Heatwave Is Upon Us – If you thought yesterday and the day before were too hot, best you get used to it! You’re looking at 30 degree weather and very low wind all the way through to next week, my love. And if you work in town and haven’t made a plan to nip over to Camps Bay for a lunchtime swim, you are a fool. A fool, I said.
Megan Fox “Only Slept With Two Guys” – She’s arguably one of the sexiest women in the world and could make many a red blooded male fall under her spell with the click of a finger. But Megan Fox says her public persona as a highly sexed man-eater is totally at odds with her private life. In a no-holds-barred interview, the 23-year-old actress reveals the thought of a one-night stand makes her sick and insists she has slept with just two men. Oh really? How many times? Nailed! [dailymail]

Royal Banquet For Jacob Zuma – Queen Gives Him a Prezzie – The Queen has praised South Africa’s journey of “democratic renewal” at a state banquet for President Jacob Zuma. The Queen made Mr Zuma an honorary Knight Grand Cross of the Order of the Bath, and in return was given the Order of the Companions of OR Tambo gold class. They should have given him the Order of the Shower. [bbc]

Is The Porsche 918 Spyder The Hybrid You Were Looking For? – Would you believe me if I told you about a 3.4-liter V8 petrol burner which is combined with electric motors to put out 500bhp, while featuring the mind-altering acceleration to go from a standing start to 62mph in just 3.2 seconds? Topping out at 198mph and offering a very respectable 78mpg fuel economy, this is pretty much the stuff of dreams.
Hurt Locker Producer Barred From Oscars – A producer of the war story “The Hurt Locker” will not be allowed to attend Sunday’s Academy Awards because of e-mails he sent urging academy members to vote for his movie. But Nicolas Chartier will receive an Oscar at a later date if “The Hurt Locker” wins best picture. Chartier violated Oscar rules that prohibit mailings promoting a film and disparaging another. He sent an e-mail to academy members asking for support of “The Hurt Locker,” “not a “$500 million film” (Avatar) [yahoo]

26 Foot Wave Kills 2 On Cruise Ship – A 26-foot wave smashed into a cruise ship carrying nearly 2,000 people in the Mediterranean on Wednesday, smashing glass windshields and killing two passengers, according to officials and news reports. Another six people suffered light injuries, the Greek coast guard said in a statement. The victims were identified as a German and an Italian man.
Twitter Users Send 50 Million Tweets a Day – Twitter, which was launched in 2007, has enjoyed rapid growth in recent months. In 2007, around 5,000 tweets were sent per day, with that increasing to 300,000 messages per day in 2008. The number of tweets sent last year grew by 1,400 per cent, to around 35 million per day, and that figure now stands at 50 million tweets sent per day. 600 a second..
Toddler Fashionistas – I remember when I brought a pair of Air Jordans back from the States as a kid. Everyone had to get a pair. Was it as progressive as Nick Nieuwstadt with his Gypsy shoes? Who knows. But I can tell you that sales of earmuffs jumped after Saints MVP Drew Brees’ son wore a pair at the Super Bowl. From Shiloh’s tomboy wardrobe to Suri’s heels, check out this gallery of kids with impact beyond the playground.
Mayor Bans “Sex Bangles” In Schools – A Brazilian mayor has banned so-called “sex bracelets” worn by children to flaunt their sexual preferences from all public schools. The cheap, brightly coloured plastic bracelets – similar to those used in health, fitness and political campaigns – have apparently been re-purposed by students, with each bangle symbolising a different sexual preference. You won’t BELIEVE what the silver bangle means.. [iol]

U.S. Plans Most Expensive Embassy Ever Built – It might sound a bit absurd to talk of a $ 1billion mega structure at a time when the housing industry is hurting and builders are more focused on survival.

Today was perhaps a prime example of how one can feel “the vibe.”

The first step is obviously to recognise it – to realise that “the vibe” may be on. This usually comes in the form of a visual clue. There is normally a lot of blue in these clues to which I refer.

For example, I first realised the vibe was on today, as I drove down to Vida e in Camps Bay this morning to grab a coffee.

I glanced to my left and noticed this:

Camps Bay’s exclusive “Bali Bay” neighbourhood

You get the idea?

I know, sometimes you don’t know what is going on, until later – when you realise that a killer day was staring you right in the face.

So there it was, the visual clue I was looking for. “Hello,” I thought to myself, “it looks very much to me like the “vibe” is on!

Right there, I was beginning to “feel the vibe,” as it were.

We had a wonderful prawn couple in Vida e this morning. Clip-clop-clip-clop walking all funny on their awkward little shoes, with their spandex all over, balls hanging out, helmets on indoors. A wonderful scene it was.

When good prawns go bad

Then I popped in at my buddy’s place he is building in Camps Bay. It’s nearly finished and is right at the front of Camps Bay. It’s a development – you can find out more about it here at pod.co.za. It’s got a number of rooms or “pods” as he calls them. Check out that website, it’s fucking awesome.

This is the view in the main suite at the top:

Fine..

Shame, ja, it’s going to be very kak when it’s finished.

So anyway, on to lunch it was, at Caprice with The Dude, as we discussed what the next step would be. That’s when we remembered, what we refer to as, “the watch game.” It’s when you turn the outside dial of your watch and set the zero to where the minute hand is, and you lie on the beach until it goes the whole way around. Just to see how long it takes. Some people call it “an hour,” but we call it “the watch game.”

“The Dude” ponders his next move

For the uninitiated, that’s Caprice with the red roof above the sand.

That’s the Atlantic Ocean, right there.

And that was that, really. We swam twice and lay right there and watched the minute hand of my watch go around full circle. Which it did. It went quite quickly – faster than normal it seemed.

But is was more than enough. I knew I should get back to the Safe House and let you know about all of this. You know, just in case you’re at your desk or in London. I want you to understand how important it is for you to make work a sideline and for you to live the holiday.

So here I am, back at Le Safe House.

Boom!

Are you feeling the vibe today?

It’s with great ease that they do, because Boschendal Grande Cuvee Brut (lest we forget the Le Grand Pavillon Brut Rosé) has very recently become the sparkling wine of choice for 2oceansvibe. Hardened 2oceansvibers out there will know what it takes to get the nod as a 2oceansvibe brand and, make no mistake, this premium Franschhoek outfit has paid their dues.

It’s won’t be long until you’ll find it at all your favourite 2oceansvibe hangouts, including Caprice, Miss K, 1800 Restaurant, Cape Royale Hotel, HQ Restaurant and Caveau.

Boschendal Grande Cuvee Brut
Now being served at The Safe House

Boschendal Grande Cuvee Brut – the 2oceansvibe Sparkling Wine of choice.

The Methode Cap Classique of choice, I might add!

I’ll be honest, The Muse and I klapped a bottle each on Sunday and I must say it goes VERY well with the Atlantic Seaboard. In fact, it goes very well with the entire weekend. It went well with the post-Clifton-tanning-session Sunday Times hour , as well as the vinyl player interlude, featuring Barry and Barbs.. Yes, it seems to adapt very well.

But you would have known that anyway, if you were following the 2oceansvibe Twitter feed, as well as the 2oceansvibe Flickr feed..

For the more serious bubbly drinkers out there, you can CLICK HERE to download the Boschendal Grande Cuvee Brut cheat sheet (PDF) which will answer all those questions you might be asking. Questions that I cannot answer. All I know is it tastes great and everyone I drink it with thinks the same!

Then, when you’re done there, take a stroll down to their website and see what it takes to become the official 2oceansvibe bubbly – www.boschendalwines.com

I did the right thing and got the new iPhone 3Gs from www.digicape.co.za. Look I’ll be honest, it’s fucking amazing.

Then, do you know what I did with it this morning?

I’ll tell you what I did with it this morning.. I used this beast of a phone and I shot a video of the view from the Safe House. Then, using the Flickr app on the phone, I uploaded the video from where I was standing, onto the 2oceansvibe Flickr account on the self-styled “internet.” That means that, within seconds of filming the video, it was available on the web for the whole of earth to see.

Then I thought I would go one step further and feature the video right here for you to see. You know, for those of you (shame) who haven’t got to grips with following 2oceansvibe on Twitter, or keeping an eye out on the constant stream of photos and videos that appear on the 2oceansvibe Flickr page.

So here it is..

BANG!

I’m completely fine with that..

Click here to see a video showing highlights of the new Apple iPhone 3Gs.

And remember to save yourself the pain of iStore and go through to www.digicape.co.za for all your Apple needs.

Why, you ask?

Because that’s how we roll, mofo..

I’ve had a stunning Summer’s day today. Popped into Yacht Squadron at the Waterfront (we are now calling this the “backfire” – a new word, by G-Man) to get my current Sebago shoes size as Mother Dearest is currently in the States and insists on buying me a pair. I don’t have a problem with that.

I (with help from The Muse) chose this shape from the Sebago website and the Yacht Squadron store has confirmed I’m a UK8 (US8.5). This is one I’m going for – it’s called the “Limerock.”

The Sebago “Limerock”
I’m FINE with that..

From there I cruised up Kloof street and, the 2oceansvibers out there following my tweets will tell you that I grabbed a smoothie at Buzz – very cool (the place, and the smoothie). Can’t remember which one it was, but it had banana in it and is on the left of the menu, above the breakfast smoothie. Try it.

My nose was pointed towards The Safe House after that, but I took a detour to Camps Bay beach to indulge in a gentle stroll – so as to get some pics for you. Because I’m thinking about you all the time.

You know that, right? I dream of you, CONSTANTLY.

Look at this very kak shot of Camps Bay right now. Click it :

Click that for a hi-res version, my boyshay

I took a few others, in and around the beach, include a shot of these two African characters, who were pouring sand all over themselves! You must check them out.

“Take a photo of me,” the guy asked.

“No problem!” I said.

*click* – I took the photo.

I very much doubt he knew you would be looking at him, not 20 minutes later.

Check out the pics, on and off the beach, including from The Safe House.

I received an sms from Caro at My Life Organised a week ago saying, “your appointment at the French Embassy was this morning – I’ll call them later and let you know how it went.” What? Who? Shit, did I miss an appointment to get my Shengen visa for my upcoming overseas trip?We had met only once before, for me to give her what was needed and to sign a form – and now THIS!

I panicked for a millisecond and remembered that the services they provide includes standing in queues and attending “appointments” with visa application appointments. A day later she arrived at the door of The Safe House with both my and The Muse ‘s visa’s. ‘

Check it out.

My French itinerary and Shengen visas
To The Safe House door..

I chatted to you (here) about a year ago about My Life Organised and, because we’re gained some new loyal 2oceansvibe readers since then, I thought it warranted another mention..

When you go to their website (here) you’ll notice that their services include everything from popping into Woolies for your forgotten groceries and gathering quotes for that long awaited alarm installation, to standing in line for your passport application and meeting the plumber at midday as your dishwasher has exploded once again. Lately I’ve been told they’ve been in massive demand for their “de-cluttering” service. They go into your house, strip away the mess and even handle the packing and moving of the excess furniture/clutter into storage facilities! Pretty rad.

I thought I’d take things to the next level and you might have noticed that My Life Organised has been handling the full co-ordination and organisation of the 2oceansvibe Weather Girls weekly online TV shows. It’s true – watch the shows here and you’ll see the logo at the end.

If that wasn’t enough, I thought I’d test the limits with some lion cubs. Yup, you heard me – wild LIONS. You see, a passionate animal lover friend of mine called me a few months ago and said he had just found four abused lion cubs in a cage in Romania. He sent me photographs and said he would pay all expenses for transport, admin and any medical undertakings to relocate the lions to somewhere in South Africa where it could be happy again.

“Sure, *cough* no problem!,” I said as I put down the phone and scratched my head. I emailed My Life Organised – “Here’s a task,” I said, “could you get everything organised with regards to permits and veterinary processes and laws and God-knows-what-else is required to move four lion cubs from Romania to South Africa? Caro, the owner, wrote back immediately and told me to expect an email with full instructions and paperwork.

This was the result:

As happy as a lion in Africa

No, I am not spicing you.

Sure, that might have been a bit excessive and I doubt you would need to test their skills to that extent but it’s good to know that they can, genuinely, do ANYTHING.

Check out their vibe and get in touch with them here – www.mylifeorganised.co.za

It was a ballsy move for Conde Nast to launch their business magazine offering, Portfolio two years ago – a time when magazines such as Forbes and Fortune were struggling to sell ad space.

‘cos every time i seem to fall in love
crash! boom! bang!

The Entrepreneur mentioned it to me and I immediately subscribed. With the subtitle “Business Intelligence,” It was a fresh change to the other mags on offer and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Incidentally, the latest (April 2009) issue I have at The Safe House has a big Zuma feature.

JZ – one of the “stars” of the April 2009 issue

But then, as you may have gathered, came the global economic meltdown – a topic which engulfed the magazine mid way through its very short life. It was global warming the one day and the credit crunch the next; making way for a healthy dose of irony as the magazine has now folded at the hands of that very same recession it discussed at length:

This, from mediamemo:

Portfolio has had its doubters even prior to its launch in 2007. Long before the advertising market cratered, critics worried that the market couldn’t support a fourth business magazine to compete with Forbes, Time Warner’s Fortune (TWX), McGraw-Hill’s BusinessWeek (MHP); they also marveled at the reported $100 million budget that Conde Nast had committed to the launch.

No telling whether that bet would have paid off in a healthier market for the high-end advertising that business magazines thrive on. But the current market is as bad as it could get: In the first three months of 2009, magazine ad pages declined more than 25%, according to an industry trade group, and Portfolio’s pages dropped by more than 60%. Some of that drop stems from the magazine’s move to a 10-issue a year schedule, down from 12 a year.

But Portfolio has been suffering for quite some time. Last fall, the magazine laid off a good portion of its staff, and turned its Web site into a skeleton operation.

Here’s the full statement from Conde Nast group president David Carey.:

Earlier today, Conde Nast announced, quite regrettably, that it is pulling back from its investment in Portfolio.

For this high-profile, 21-issue launch, the recession has helped and hurt the brand. While the unprecedented nature of these times has made business and the economy the main topic of conversation, it has also led to high levels of uncertainty and a tremendous reduction in ad spend in the five key sectors Portfolio’s business model depends on.

The company is deeply grateful to Portfolio’s readers and for the broad support of marketers and executives all around the country.

[more here]

Jesus, it’s pretty hectique out there.

And this is a magazine focused on business and the economy – the very thing that killed it. That, after launching only two years ago – by one of earth’s most powerful and successful publishing groups.

What does that tell you?

Ja, keep it simple, guys.

[thanks jonty]

You probably noticed in last week’s 2oceansvibe Weather Girls show (here) that I managed to get my hands on a T-shirt from the new Ape Town range. That’s right, the original Ape Town brand has just released a whole new range of colours to suit every mood! They’re really sick and, as usual, they’ve nailed the perfect cut – with the perfect neck. Mmm…melts in your mouth.

I’ll be honest, it’s pretty much the ultimate T-shirt.

Seth raises his hands
To show there is no trickery afoot

So for a brand that used to trade almost exclusively online, fans will be pretty excited to note that they are FINALLY available at a retail outlet! That’s right, you can actually go into a shop and see the full range, try them on and get the perfect design and size to suit YOU! More about that in a second.

I lied earlier. I managed to get my hands on the WHOLE new range. I laid them out around The Safe House and took some pics for you. Check check check it out:

I can see you in the middle one
The Muse digs the one on the far right.
Batman and Province

Keep in mind that these are the ORIGINAL Ape Town T-shirts. There are a lot of fakes out there, but these guys own the actual trademark. So beware of knock-offs by the likes of Quiksilver that have been selling around town.

We can confirm that the ONLY place selling the original Ape Town T-shirts is Finger Clothing on Kloof Street (www.finger.co.za). It’s next to St. Elmo’s and opposite the Kloof Lifestyle Centre. Say… 60m up the road from Vida e. There’s a petrol station two shops down so you can nip in while you fill up your truck.

Or you can park underground at the Kloof Lifestyle Centre (first half an hour is FREE!)

So some friends from L.A. rolled into town for a week and managed to pack in quite a bit. They stayed at the new One & Only hotel (review pending – the jury is still out) at the V&A Waterfront and headed out each day, ticking off the various adventures to be had. It was Cape Point the one day and Robben Island the next. Even following locals’ advice and checking out the Old Biscuit Mill and yes, of course, Le Table Mountain . I was very impressed with their thoroughness. With only a week in town, they were blessed with perfect weather the whole way through. Even enjoying a full moon during their stay.

Well advised, they decided to indulge in the now famed Cape Town Lion’s Head Full Moon hike – a ritual performed by many a visitor and Capetonian alike. Something that I personally had not experienced and something The Muse and I had chatted at length about doing. In particular I was excited to see “the moon rising on the one side, and the sun setting on the other!” We agreed to join.

We had no idea what to expect for our debut Lion’s Head hike, and headed up around 17h45 on the night of the full moon (this was the 9th of April).

The hike is basically a full spiral revolution of Lion’s Head, starting at Signal Hill, taking you up around Kloof Nek, over Camps Bay, past the Paraglider launch point, over and around Clifton, Bantry Bay, Fresnaye and Sea Point (with Robben Island in the distance), over Signal Hill, over the City Bowl (with staggering Table Mountain views) and ending up again just above Kloof Nek.

A lot of you would have heard about “the chains,” and whether you should “go up the chains” or not. Personally, we did not go up the chains. There was a queue at the chains and I didn’t have the strength nor the time (the sun was about to set) to stare up a German’s backside as he negotiated “the chains.” The chains are for people who INSIST on getting to the very top. But, trust me, there is no need. Skip the chains and keep on going.

Believe me, you don’t need to go any further. Unless you want to join queues of hustling and bustling psychopaths along a pathway the size of my waist with treacherous drops on either side. This is where you end up instead..

The Gang
Proudly poses at the top
(yes, I was taking the pic)

We stayed up there and had a couple glasses of wine, some beers and possibly even a quiet joint. The sun set completely and we headed down the precarious mountain path. Some people had actual headlamps on their heads, but we made do with three or four mini Maglights. Fine!

So there you have it. A wonderful experience from start to finish. Highly recommend for those of you that haven’t been. Trust me, you’ll be fine, it’s not that hectique. And you can definitely substitute it for gym that day!

LIONS HEAD FULL MOON HIKE TIPS AND PREPARATION

CLICK HERE to check when the next full moon is. Go on the day that says “FULL.” Kind of makes sense. Plan to go up on that day.

Then, CLICK HERE to see what time the sun is currently setting .

Plan to meet your crew at the base of the hike 01h15 before the time of the sunset (no registration or anything necessary – just arrive). To get there, you simply hang a right at the top of Kloof Nek (the road you take to get to Signal Hill). Drive up the tarred road about 200 to 300 meters and park. You’ll know you’re in the right place as there will be loads of people with backpacks on. There is also a little wooden hut .

Park your car (I went on a scooter as this is how smart Capetonians travel) and congregate with your crew next to the wooden hut. You’ll notice a dirt path heading up the mountain from that point – next to a metal boom of sorts.

Start heading up a minimum of 50 minutes before the sunset time. We had a sunset time of 18h30 and ensured that we started heading up at the latest 17h45.

Wear some descent sports shoes or takkies and shorts . I went in jeans which is not the end of the world, but I would have preferred shorts.

Take along a torch or a headlamp if you want. But keep in mind that just because you’re up a mountain and your life is at risk, does not mean you ignore the rules of fashion and coolness.

Just kidding. Headlamps are fine and can be bought for one or two hundred bucks from Cape Union Mart at The V&A Waterfront. Torches are more than fine and you should have at least two torches for every three people at the very least. One each would be ideal, but not the end of the world.

Pack a little backpack with some snacks and drinks for when you get to the top. Two drinks per person should be fine. Don’t forget to pack water as well. In terms of weed, I packed a pinner and one drag each was more than fine.

I’d advise you to also take a warm top for when the sun sets and a possible night time nip kicks in.

Clear up your area before you leave. Check in and around rocks where you were sitting and take any litter, even if it isn’t yours.

Walk down slowly and help each other . If you walk through a tricky section and the person behind you doesn’t have a torch, stop and shine the light in front of them until they are through it as well. Even if you don’t know them. It’s just cooler that way.

That’s it! Good luck and enjoy!

Don’t forget the camera!

Oh, and this was the view from The Safe House the next morning between 6am and 7am.

I know – pretty cool hey?

But then I found this this little piece of madness.

“Standing on your head” usually conjures up images of someone doing a head stand. This is not the case with the new Diesel ad campaign in the US edition of GQ magazine.

Diesel ad in latest US GQ Magazine

Jesus, can you do that?

It’s too funny. Not only is his foot on the old man’s head, but the man’s mouth is OPEN, on the guy’s shoe. And I just ADORE how he is holding the guy’s ankle.

It’s quite lovely, the whole thing..

I didn’t mind yesterday. Much.

I went for a swim in the Atlantic Ocean at, say, 8am. It was crispy.

I returned to The Safe House and listened to a bit of Bob Dylan (on vinyl – a birthday gift from my G-Man, The Dude and The TBG). After channeling Bob for a while, I was blessed with the arrival of her royal highness, Mavis, at around 09h30 (no rush). She made me some fruit with yoghurt. Nice.

Aaah, Cappers..

I popped down to Caprice at around 11 and chilled there until 13h00. I tucked into a few 2oceansvibe cocktails and thoroughly enjoyed the entertainment, which included this fellow who may or may not be a foreigner.

Taking a leisurely stroll..

That was all a bit much and I returned to The Safe House. But not for long. It seemed the day was not to be wasted and The Photographer pulled round to fetch me, as we descended upon Little Beach, Bakoven.

The Photographer prepares for a swan dive

Whilst we did remember to take a couple Jack Black beers down, I did forget my new Lizzard towel. So we managed to share The Photographers towel in the most non-gay way possible. You know, just burping and swearing every now and then, to bring across the element of man.

The Photographer won that game
1-0

Yes, I think you will notice that the ocean was playing a game of lake-lake yesterday.

Funnily enough, I received an email on my phone at that exact point, from The Barndog, showing his view in Durban and commenting that his ocean can also play “lake-lake.” Good effort.

Speaking of good efforts, the sunset last night was, what we call, “acceptable.”

Last night’s sunset
7/10

Stunning.

But that was yesterday, and today is Friday – which is also nice.

But today is not only Friday, it is also your captain, John Smit’s birthday.

So, Barndog, from all of us at 2oceansvibe – happy birthday, my angel.

x

With the wind pumping through from about 20h00 last night, I was worried it would continue into the morning and that I wouldn’t be able to hit the beach and work on my tan today (to prepare for Friday night’s Blog Awards at Chevelle, of course).

There was no need to panic, as this is what we’re dealing with today.

Ladies and gents, sunrise:

Mmm, that feels good.

You like that?

Well thank God for that! We can relax to a gentle panic!

By the way, it’s topping 33 today.

That’s right..it’s gonna be a PEACH!

It really crept up on me this year. Goodness! Amazing, it feels like just yesterday that I got my Louis Vuitton satchel for the first day of school. And now look – I’m a fully developed man! Quietly cruising around doing what feels nice. And no parents around, whatsoever! How do I remain so relatively stable? God only knows.

Seth, dreaming of palm trees and champagne

But I must just hand this birthday over to you. There is no need to celebrate my birthday. Because, as you know, there is a little piece of each of you inside my body (and me yours). This is, essentially, your birthday.

So happy birthday to YOU, 2oceansvibe readers. And thank you for being so perfect and smelling so beautiful.

If you INSIST on getting me something for my birthday, why don’t you CLICK HERE and cast your vote for the 2009 Blog Awards . That will be sufficient, I promise.

Declarations of love and cleavage shots with “Happy Birthday Seth” written across your chest, can be sent to editor@2oceansvibe.com – that won’t be a problem.

You can leave comments under this post, you can write all over my Facefuck page, you can Twitter me – the options are endless!

Oh, if you MUST send something of great value, send to PO BOX 227, Green Point, Cape Town, South Africa, 8051.

I gotta go play with this Brazilian model that a wealthy friend had delivered to The Safe House this morning so, without any further adieu, here is the usual birthday video…

Check it out.

Interview: Seth Rotherham from 2oceansvibe
Katharina Scholtz

2oceansvibe is a ridiculously popular blog (35 000 unique readers a month) authored by a ridiculously funny man called Seth Rotherham. He’s built up his blog’s culture around a simple phrase – “work is a sideline, live the holiday”. This is exactly what he seems to be doing – while taking his friends (often featured on the blog) and favourite brands along for the ride. We tracked him down via email to answer some questions in the way only he can. Enjoy.

Blogs are arguably not the normal home for the suave and almost-naked-woman surrounded – how did u get into it?

I started 7 years ago before blogging was really happening and/or popular. I just made the site to showcase pictures of friends and beautiful angels taken at parties the previous weekend. Mainly just for my close mates. I used to write the odd funny comment next to the pics and strangers started telling me how they found it funny. That felt weird. And nice. Like when you take a leak in a wetsuit. I continued and here we are today (sans wetsuit).

Work is a Sideline, Live the Holiday – is 2oceansvibe your day job?

Absolutely. Fortunately I’ve developed a system whereby I don’t really have to work. This allows me to focus on 2oceansvibe and, as a result, I can produce this online reality show type vibe and write about what I’m doing which happens to be chilling out doing nice things with nice people. It appeals to the reader as it’s stuff that we all want to do.

Was there a moment of shining light when you thought ‘I’m a lifestyle blogger!’ and if so when did it happen?

Jeez. Probably the day when a 2oceansvibe cocktail appeared on the Caprice Cocktail menu. But seriously, nothing has changed. I started before blogging was a word – I’m just writing about what everyone is talking about.

We like the way you manage to keep advertising entertaining on your blog. Do you find it a tough balance to strike?

Not in the slightest. I only advertise brands I like or want to try. If they let me down, or repeatedly let down/offend my readers (my most adored treasure), they won’t be there any longer. Part of the reason people come to 2oceansvibe is to get recommendations on stuff. I’ve always written about products and brands; what I eat, wear, have and do anyway, whether they’re paid for or not – it’s all real.

You’ve evolved a whole culture around your writing, with characters and ‘angels’ (the number of times you mention the word ‘vibe’ is quite something) – how much conscious planning goes into it?

Not much at all. That is exactly how we/I talk. Nothing on the site is contrived. My friends have always referred to each other as the characters shown on the 2oceansvibe characters list. The Chief, for example, would call me and say, “Have you heard the latest spice about our boy?” I’d go, “Which one.” He’d go, “The Insurance Broker.” “Oooh, no I did not… tell me more!!” and so it goes on.

“The Safe House” has always been called that (2oceansvibe or not) and it’s because it is high up in Camps Bay and lets me look down over everything – feeling safe. We always call chicks angels and I think it’s good that we do – because they are!

Vibe is just the most versatile word. “What’s the vibe” – “Check that guy’s vibe!” – “Howz your vibe?” – “A boring vibe” – “Quite a vibe” – “That angel is giving me a vibe” – it goes one. Which vibe are you referring to, exactly?

Do you promote your blog, or did you when you started? (I can’t imagine you reading posts like 10 tips for growing your readership or Problogger).

Nah, there was never any promotion – purely word of mouth. There are little scandals along the way which allowed the site to gain new readers and continue forward. The most recent was the high profile public spat I had with the Idols Judges. Which resulted in me responding to Randy Abrahams with a video which has been watched over 80,000 times now.

I just grab the bull by the horns when the moment presents itself. I think the secret behind 2oceansvibe is a variation of dare-I-say-it “The Secret” (which is a variation of the same thing covered in every good business book of all time). I look after brands and people I trust. I talk about it. The readers trust me, and they follow my lead. In return the vibe grows. Because it’s a good vibe built on trust. We don’t interact with dicks. Ever.

You should definitely continue reading that interview as there is loads more (including some more ridiculous pics) – some of it pretty amusing I am told.

Thanks again, Kat – thoroughly enjoyed that!

I’m giving these guys a punt because they were put onto me by a friend and proceeded to totally and utterly blow me away. Everyone knows that the entire 2oceansvibe network has NEVER had a reliable cape town panel beater and I honestly think I’ve struck gold. Sorry, WE’VE struck gold! You gotta listen to this story – seriously, it’ll save your life.

AUTO MAGIC

Ok, I had this small C-Class Merc which was was always used as a spare, for errands and for when friends were in town. But, due to a man’s need for multiple toys, I ran out of space at The Safe House and I simply had to get rid of the thing. You feel my vibe.

So, I put the car into the AutoTrader and, AS the ad goes to print, a friend borrows the car and gets into a little fender bender. Hey, no problem, these things happen. It wasn’t his fault anyway. But needless to say Murphy’s Law kicked in and, at that exact moment, some calls started to come in to BUY the car! Fuck sakes! I wrote down a few of their names and numbers and said I’d get back to them shortly.

Enjoy this vibe.

Ooooh!
NOT ideal..

Awesome..

So The Roofer, being a part of the “industrial” vibe, tells me about his buddy who owns a Cape Town “panel beater” place called Auto Magic, who SPECIALISE in quick turnaround time.

“Oh reeeeeaally… WHERE are they?” I asked, waiting for him to tell me they were at the arse end of the world.

“That’s the beauty about these guys,” he tunes, “they FETCH the car and BRING IT BACK to you! They’ll even come TO you to do the QUOTE!”

“Don’t talk shit,” I responded, angry with the clearly ill-informed advice.

“Trust me,” came The Roofer’s response.

Hmm, ballsy.

And that’s when the most incredible script started to unfold before me. The exact same script The Roofer had described. The oke CAME to my garage (it could still drive) and gave me a quote, which I accepted on the spot. He then drove the car away – immediately.

That was the Monday morning. On the Thursday I got a call from Auto Magic.

“Where can we deliver the car to?” they asked.

“Are you joking?” I asked, genuinely stunned. “Or couldn’t you fix it.”

“No, sir, it’s fixed. Where can we deliver it?”

I shit you not, they fixed that Merc in THREE DAYS. They took it from me on a Monday and returned it on the Thursday. Looking like this:

Oh COME now!
Stop it!

I had lined up a few people to see the car, but said I was away. I called them back to come and see the car. The first guy bought it. He asked if the car had been in any accidents. I told him it had, and that a friend had “dinged” the front right and door panels. He had a close look and said, “can’t see anything.”

“I know,” I smiled.

And that, my friends, is the end of that!

So follow my lead and, when you think of anything to do with Cape Town panel beating, dents or body restoration – trust me – go no further than these guys!

I only watched the Oscars last night, as the live broadcast (early yesterday morning) was on during my dealings with Mercedes Benz. In case you missed my Twitting, I dropped off my car and was put into an A-Class Merc as I joined a lift club from the Culemborg Orbit Motors to The Safe House.

An A-class Merc
Picture this with five people in it.
Two of them being over 100kg.

The lift club consisted of the driver, two extremely large people (one man, one woman), a man of normal build and myself (sporty/model type build). For those of you who know the A-Class Merc, this setup is nothing short of unreasonable. Struggling to breathe, I noticed the driver was driving in the wrong direction. He informed us he needed to get to a petrol station to fill up. The A-Class was out of gas. Good. Good. I wasn’t sure how much more of this I could take.

I should also make mention of the fact that I have a very powerful “fuck-up sensor” built into my head, which was bleeping when I first arrived at Mercedes Benz. Sensing in impending fuck up when I dropped off my car at 07h00, I asked the chick at the desk to get me the number for RIKKIS taxis. She went through the phone book and couldn’t find their number. She assured me I was over reacting and I would have a very comfortable lift, very shortly. We left at 07h30.

Back to the lift club. 10 minutes later (after filling up with a jam-packed car) we were on the road, in Gardens, as the driver got everyone’s drop-off coordinates. They all agreed that I would be the last drop. Given the only thing between Camps Bay and Gardens is Kloof Nek, I couldn’t quite fathom 45 minutes of driving around Cape town with my face pressed against the window like a porn star.

I climbed out of the vehicle as traffic built up around us. The driver shat himself and asked what I was doing. I explained to him it would be easier for me to walk. I bid my lift club buddies farewell and headed off into the CBD, side swiping Wembley Square and finally ending up at Vida e on Kloof Road. I grabbed a latte and a water and jumped in the first taxi that drove past. R40 got me to The Safe House where I spent the day rolled up like a ball, shivering in the corner.

Other than that I’m fine.

I watched the Oscars last night and found it thoroughly amusing that the cameras were basically fixed on Brad and Angelina when Jennifer was on stage. They’re so naughty, those cameramen.

I’m not going to give an Oscar review as I’m sure there is not much more to be said. What I will do is give you pics of Jen and Angie for general discussion.

Jennifer Aniston at The Oscars

Angelina Jolie at The Oscars

Nice.

Goodness, they really are two very different people. I am slightly scared of Angelina, to be honest.

I reckon she beats Brad.

Ok, I’ve been feeling the pulse of Cape Town and am very pleased to see more and more people (girls, and boys alike) have realised the coolness of the “Slap, Snap & Fisties” handshake. Again, your belief in 2oceansvibe has resulted in you being happier and, more importantly, cooler – the way I like to see you.

Not to jump the gun or anything, it is very important for you to know about ANOTHER cool way to say hi; to be used when you want to give a more meaningful handshake, with more FEEL. Like when you’re saying hi to a mate you haven’t seen for a while. It’s called the “Drop Knee,” or “D.K.” I was chilling to the maximum level at The Safe House with The Dude the other day and we decided to “drop” it for you.

My weekend was pretty basic. Saturday was an absolute pleasure as people thought there was too much mist to go to the beach. Thus leaving the entire beach empty for the more intrepid, like myself. It was actually boiling hot with a very light sexual mist in the air. Like that lighting they use when people dream in TV soaps.

Very mellow

The weather patterns and thermals and God knows what else, allowed for a brand new sunset that I hadn’t seen before at The Safe House. You see, what happens is the cold air replaces the hot air, creating a vaccuum which… I’m kidding.

The Safe House – Saturday night
Shame

Fine. Absolutely nothing wrong with that.

So that was part of my weekend.

Which was completely different to the weekend had by Casey W; who indulged in a bit of Clifton 1st beach.

HI Seth

I just wanted to share with you what I saw on the beach yesterday….. Clifton 1 st actually, I just could not resist….

And yes that giant number one is indeed a tattoo

Hope you enjoy it

Cheers

Wrong on so many levels

AWESOME!

Thanks Casey, those were exceptional!

We live in such a wonderful place.

Like music, Cape Town is the gift that keeps on giving..

As you might have gathered, I cruised up to Hermanus with The Muse on Friday arvee last week, in lieu of Don Corleone’s 70th birthday being held at Wolff’s Nest on Saturday night.

The drive was pretty cool, except for the fact that we had to return to The Safe House about seventy two times for various different forgotten items, including hair dryers, booze, magazines and weed. And then, right at the start of our trip down the N2, we had our own personal experience with one of those “blue light” VIP security vehicles that got so much airtime in this weekend’s Weekender newspaper (the one you SHOULD be reading).

The guy was driving an old fucked up silver BMW (circa late 90′s) with a crap blue light on the roof. No siren. Just a crap blue light. Seriously – it was SO crap. Think of the worst blue flashing light you have ever seen, and divide that by 100. You won’t be even CLOSE to how crap this tool’s blue flashing light was.

The tool muscled his way through the traffic, with only the odd motorist actually noticing the blue light – for the most part everyone thought there was some kind of crime taking place. To be quite honest, I was expecting gun fire. Seriously.

Blue light VIP convoys
Under fire

So this cock disappears into the distance and we continued our journey. We drove past the Epping cooling towers which, as everyone knows, is the marker we use on the way to Hermanus to gauge when it is fine to light up a joint. No-one is allowed to indulge before that point – that would be naughty.

A few kays down the road, Cock Head reappears! Behind us! With his fucking blue light! This time he has a buddy with him. So he obviously stopped somewhere to fetch his bum chum and is now continuing his spurt of highway lunacy.

Please, my dear friends, bear in mind that there is NO convoy around us! There is no “motorcade.” There are no “VIP’s” ANYWHERE! There is just this one cock cruising all over the N2 in his fucked up BMW, fetching his mates and continuing his journey. Maybe he is on his way to join a convoy, somewhere in the future, or in his fantasy world which he plays with his fag friend in the passenger seat? I don’t know. Either way, I think us sensible/logical/semi-intelligent individuals can work out exactly what has happened here. This cock DOES join blue light VIP convoys from time to time. His lack of education and very sad (genuinely) upbringing has resulted in his over-exuberance which is the result of him being allowed to keep the blue light, even when he is not working. The blue light is his power. And you know what? As funny as it may sound – it is power. It DOES work; some people do actually take it seriously.

It takes me back to my student days when I had a hand-held flashing light and siren which we used to hold out of the window of Claudia , my white Citi-Golf Shuttle (which happened to be the fastest production thirteen hundred on the road at the time) as we drove through the oncoming traffic at the Paradise Motors traffic light intersection in Claremont. It was fucking dangerous and we knew what we were doing was wrong and we were probably stoned at the time. I shudder to think of it now, but I’m glad we did it. Because it brings us that one millimeter closer to understand what was going through this imbecile’s mind – the imbecile who was allowed to keep a blue flashing light after hours. The imbecile who, as small as it may seem, got too much power. A micro-analysis of a far larger problem we face in this beautiful land.

(Notice how I am not using the word “robot” to describe a traffic light – that is what happens when you are aware of your international readers. When you care. When you love.)

I let him overtake me – or rather he rounded me on the outside of the right lane and shat off into the distance – only to be squashed back against me when we hit the Somerset West traffic (the worst experience the world has encountered since slavery). I watched this prick push through a few cars at a red traffic light and then he proceeded to drive over the intersection, which was free-flowing with traffic from the left and right (given it was their green light). Naturally, with the crappest blue flashing light in history and no siren, cars were literally skidding to a halt as this twat tried to get over the intersection. Oh my good God, it was so emboerrissing and such bullshit I actually didn’t have the strength to write this article in the first place. But then I got started and here I am with the memory of this fucking lunatic and his crap blue flashing light and his queer friend and his complete fearless disregard for anything remotely decent and/or logical; let alone his incredible lack of intelligence.

So yes, I too despise this bullshit that is the blue light brigade and their lack of lawnessness on the road and the PURE FACT that they have given too much power – NOT to the VIP’s they surround, but the convoy drivers themselves.

Where do they recruit these freaks?

Taxi ranks?

Jesus.

It’s not a bad time to be on Cape Town’s Atlantic Seaboard and my heart goes out to those of you who recently departed after your holiday on these shores.

For those of you who are still here, or those of you who LIVE here, I thought I would remind you of what is going on.

Here is a pic taken from The Safe House last night, followed by a pic of Camps Bay taken this morning. You might want to move your lunch appointment to Caprice …. or cancel it altogether.

Today – shame

I know, it is quite childish.

You do know the same beach applies, even if you sell wooden carvings at the side of the road?

Sell your car. Get a scooter. Work at the local video shop. Spend your day on the beach. Be happier. Live longer.

A lot of people do that.

Mavis doesn’t ask for things, or make requests – she makes announcements (usually connected to things she has seen on TV). Anytime. Any place. Like last week when I was minding my own business in The Safe House, putting the finishing touches to some lyrics I was writing for Aerosmith. She walked into the lounged and announced, “I need more Handy And.”

An interesting thing about Mavis is she refers to the cleaning product “Handy Andy” as “Handy And.” She has no use for the last ‘y.’ It’s just Handy And. Handy Ands have been useful throughout the years. Dolce Gabbana, for example, were craving a Handy And, and subsequently became Dolce & Gabbana.

I couldn’t quite compute what was going on and was worried I would lose my concentration. So, following the no-phone-call trend that is sweeping the nation, I sent an sms to The P.A. “Please angel, please please please get in touch with Mavis, find out what she wants, take my credit card, and buy the best of everything! Get it ALL. Please. For God’s sake!”

The P.A. arrived later that day with a MASSIVE bag of stuff, as she began unpacking it – very chuffed with herself. I was about to scold her for buying the wrong things as it seemed she had bought some sort of body range of “Earth Friendly” products from Woolworths. And you can’t blame me for thinking so. Especially when, for example, the Natural Dishwashing Liquid comes with “extracts of pomegranate and ginger .” I gave the P.A. an amused stare. “Trust me,” she reassured me, “The Safe House deserves this stuff. ” When I got to the kitchen cleaner, I knew I had to show you.

Please enjoy these.

ÂÂ

Woolworths Earth Friendly Natural Dishwashing Liquid..
..with extracts of pomegranate and ginger!

Woolworths Earth Friendly Natural Kitchen Cleaner..
..with rose, chamomile and orange!

Woolworths Earth Friendly Natural Oven Cleaner..
..with GRAPEFRUIT ESSENTIAL OILS!!!

ÂÂ

Are you getting all of this? OVEN CLEANER WITH GRAPEFRUIT ESSENTIAL OILS! Have you ever come across a home cleaning product with any kind of “essential oils” inside it? HAH, I laughed!

The P.A. was not amused and responded in her serious voice, telling me that this is “all we will be buying for The Safe House from now on” and (as was confirmed on the back of the label) went on about the Woolworths Earth Friendly range being naturally derived, plant-based, biodegradable and containing no petrochemicals, no animal ingredients and no artificial colours and something about Beauty without Cruelty.

Well I’m glad we’re doing the right thing and, given The P.A.’s generally hip and stylish vibe, I’d say this is what all the cool kids are using.

“Now you’re really going to laugh,” she said, as she pulled out even MORE stuff from the same Earth Friendly range, but this time it was for HUMANS, rather than the HOME!

ÂÂ

Woolworths Earth Friendly for humans!
..with extracts of EVERYTHING!

ÂÂ

I am pleased to report that The Muse has also been using these body products and has given them the thumbs up. So I think it’s fair to say that everyone is happy and The Safe House is an even safer place for all!

Oh, and Mavis got her wish as well, with the Woolworths Earth Friendly Natural Cream Cleaner (with peppermint, rosemary and lemon!).

ÂÂ

Handy what?
Woolworths Earth Friendly Natural Cream Cleaner..
..with peppermint, rosemary and lemon!

She was, naturally, amazed that something that she hadn’t seen on TV, could be so good.

Still wading through the aftermath of the instant fame he received following his well documented delivery/encounter (article here) with a gaggle of hot Camps Bay babes, Brendan, the Butlers Pizza “celebrity driver” is still a very hot commodity. Take it from me!

I’ll be honest, I wasn’t expecting it. Nor did I expect any driver to know the location of The Safe House – especially seeing as my Butlers account is registered under an alias. But, when I opened the door, I was IMMEDIATELY blown away but the instantly recognizable hairstyle and swagger.

“Oh my GOD!” I yelled, as I opened the door. “You’re…. you’re that guy from the…”

“From the article. Yup!” he confirmed, before I finished my sentence.

“Jesus, that’s hilarious! It’s Brendan, right?”

He smiled, nodding his head – also pretty excited it seemed.

“Guys!” I turned around to The Kitesurfer and The Photographer who had stopped by for a cold Jack Black and a glass of De Grendel, “this is Brendan from the article with the chicks!”

Each person, in turn, hosed themselves.

The Kitesurfer and The Photographer, with Brendan
(who cleverly removed his bow tie, as per Butlers off-duty policy)

It made sense to recreate the original debauched scene – albeit with my choice stock of 2oceansvibe’s beer (Jack Black) and wine (De Grendel )!

An essential part to being a complete human being, is to possess the ability to cook perfect crispy bacon in a frying pan. I’m going to tell you now, just this once, the easiest way to do so.

Crispy bacon – standard stuff in The Safe House

MrBreakfast.com got it spot on:

Choose a pan large enough to accommodate the full length of the bacon strips. The more room you have to work with, the better your chance of success.

Lay the bacon in the pan or on the skillet BEFORE turning on the heat. Do not let slices overlap – not even a little.

Cook on a setting slightly above medium. Too much heat means the bacon will cook too quickly. A cooking time that exceeds five minutes is not only fine, it is preferred.

As the bacon begins to shrink, flip each slice separately with a fork – make sure the slices remain as flat as possible after flipping. At this point, flip each slice at least once every 45 seconds.

Drain off excess fat midway though cooking time — about 2 minutes after the bacon begins to sizzle. Carefully remove pan from heat, hold the bacon down with a wide spatula and tilt pan to drain fat into a container. There’s no need to get rid of all the liquid – just enough so the slices don’t have to swim and fry at the same time.

Well-made griddles allow the fat to drain though the nature of their construction. Forget this step if using one.

Finished bacon will be brown and firm, not necessarily crispy in the pan. With a fork, transfer each finished slice to the plate lined with paper towels. When all the pieces are there, dab the top-side of all slices with the other paper towel.

Turn off the heat. Remove the gloves. Pat yourself on the back. Your crispy bacon is now ready to serve and enjoy.

And there you have it. The key pointers, for me, were focusing on the constant draining of the pan, as well as maintaining medium, rather than full heat.

Miss K in Green Point have got it SPOT ON. You don’t even have to ask for crispy bacon – that’s how they serve it. Because it’s obvious.

My GOD, Saturday was a gorgeous day! I cleverly didn’t over-indulge at Asoka the night before, following the launch of the first Luv Sport TV show. A good night’s sleep and a fresh joint (I went for the pinner – three drags and go) ensured maximum enjoyment of the good weather.

I had breakfast scheduled with G Man at Caprice for the Sunday, so The Muse and I indulged in some brekkie in the sun at Miss K in Green Point. Glorious.

It was just glorious!

Seth keeps it simple. Nothing sexy.

Any breakfast connoisseur will tell you the necessity of crispy bacon, and I am usually at pains to explain to waiters (I refuse to say “waitrons” – it makes me nauseous) its importance. Needless to say, Miss K’s bacon is served perfectly crispy, first time, every time; without even mentioning it.

I must say, it is quite an indulgence for me to dine at Miss K. The goodbye gifts of cheese cake and other naughties are one thing, but the lack of struggle to get an outside table, combined with the blatant flirtations at the hands of gorgeous 40-somethings (Roz and Lola being my highlight) makes it simply impossible to resist!

Naughty

The morning was topped off with the purchase of a newly pressed 25th anniversary double vinyl edition of Michael Jackson’s Thriller, at one of the “thrift” shops next door, forming my personal celebration of The Gloved One’s 50th birthday.

We strolled down to Giovanni’s to buy some deli ham, cheese, avo, sun-dried tomato and some of Knead’s bread. Oh, and I finally bought an espresso cup to compliment the new Bialetti Moka Express I got the other day. You can buy the actual Giovanni’s cups and saucers that Piero serves at the coffee counter.

Be international, in the comfort of your own home.

Bizarrely, with all this movement in-and-out of various public places, the civilians were VERY well behaved. Not once did we encounter silliness or annoyances any sort. Well done, everyone involved!

The envelope was pushed with one more Saturday public treat, in the form of a read-through of the papers at Vida e in Camps Bay. The nice thing at Vida is you have the option of reading school projects (in the form of the leading national papers) OR you can read The Weekender , which they cleverly have on hand at all of their outlets.

A return to The Safe House allowed a full play through of Thriller, followed by a dip into the John Lennon box set.

Jackson relaxes on the recently
repaired original AKAI record player.

Lennon, with Dylan “accidentally” peeping out from behind.
Contrived? You bet.
Necessary? Always!

No phone calls were had, as the Atlantic Ocean and skyline set the scene for the rest of the day as more than one bottle of DeGrendel Rose was opened.

Fine

Wonderful.

Simply wonderful.

I’m quite pleased with myself. I popped into Carlucci’s yesterday to get a Chunky Chicken Salad and I spotted their range of stovetop espresso makers, as I do every time (always two words, it is never “everytime”). I bit my lip as I grabbed the small Bialetti Moka Express one-man unit from the shelf and proceeded to the checkout.

The next stop was Vida e to grab some finely ground Vida e coffee. I was all set to go.

As the yanks say, “ALL SET!”

The Bialetti Moka Express

Isn’t it just too beautiful and classic for words? Apparently 150 million cups of espresso are made using one of these puppies, every day around the world!

EVERY DAY, my boet!

I suggest you get one too.

It didn’t take me long to learn how to use it at The Safe House, thanks to this new product I use, called the “internet,” which has instructions on everything from bombs to coffee makers! Brilliant!

I’ve had three espressos today and they were just incredible. I still have to grab an actual Vida e coffee from an actual Vida e outlet so I’d advise you to stay the fuck out of my way after that as I could very easily be tripping.
