Comprised of two farms, situated on opposite ends of the breathtaking Franschhoek Wine Valley, Haute Cabrière is something extraordinary. A rich history, a whimsical setting, a seductive approach to wine and a magnetic proprietor ensure that it is a decadent affair for any visitor. The core belief that wine is grown not made makes the farm’s ethos incredibly real and intrinsically human. Wine is more than what is in the bottle and it is considered an exceptionally intimate experience. This seductive conviction is intertwined with the farm’s ultimate philosophy that wine is bigger than one, it’s the combination of four factors: Sun, Soil, Vine, Man.
Following the tradition of the Champagne, our still wines are named after the property – Haute Cabrière – and our Méthode Cap Classiques are named after the original founder: Pierre Jourdan.
There are certain items that you will buy every month of your life. That is a fact. And without fail, it will always, always be a chore to head out into town, to battle traffic, and aggressive car guards, or aggressive city parking officials, and random road works, just so you can get to Waltons [...]
Look at all the 2oceansvibe partners. See how different they are from the rubbish freebies some people seem to love getting? Maybe then you’ll understand why we can only accept 100 of you to join the 2ov Top 100. This is how it works.
Roman Abramovich must be so upset about this. I would be. When you build yourself the biggest yacht in the world, having the biggest yacht IS a big deal. That’s how these guys work. And now Roman’s just going to have to DEAL with this beast, dubbed ‘Azzam.’
I have just settled down next to the heated pool. This after a game of tennis, some brekkie and a 10 minute steam followed by a shower. Things could be worse. How other hotels can claim to be 5-stars, I don’t know.
It’s a short work week. Which means that you’re highly likely to be drinking bubbles this coming Friday. So you might as well do it properly. And by properly, we mean by sabrage. What is sabrage? I’m so glad you asked: The opening of a bottle, normally of champagne, by slicing off the bottle’s neck with [...]
Anyone with half an ounce of good living in them should not miss the annual Summer Soiree at Haute Cabriere – home of Pierre Jourdan! Those who went last year will know how awesome it is. Lounging on the lawns, with sunset, wine and food from the restaurant. Pure bliss. Click for more..
It’s been an exciting week and we have received a large number of entries to win one of six bottles of Pierre Jourdan Brut. But not just any bottles – MAGNUM bottles! Click through to see who won.
It’s cork-popping season again! And what better bottle to pop, than a MAGNUM of 2oceansvibe’s favourite Methode Cap Classique, Pierre Jourdan! We’re giving away Pierre Jourdan MAGNUMS to 6 lucky readers. And winning 1 of those 6 is VERY easy!
Given the extensive history between 2oceansvibe and our methode cap classique of choice, Pierre Jourdan (Seth’s parents planted some of the trees on the farm!), we found this story about the coat of arms at Haute Cabrière of the German von Arnim family very interesting. We think you will enjoy it too.
During a recent stay at my official Cape town residence, the Mount Nelson, I noticed that the local method cap classique of choice on their menu, is Pierre Jourdan. It makes sense why I can now reveal that Pierre Jourdan Brut is the official exclusive 2oceansvibe cap classique.
