Last night saw the closing ceremony of the Paralympics in London. Coldplay performed and were joined by Rihanna and Jay-Z. Their song “Paradise” has become the the unofficial anthem of the Games over the past 12 days. This year saw 4 200 Paralympians from 164 different countries take part. All the action inside.

Last night saw the opening ceremony of the Paralymic Games in London. Professor Stephen Hawking took centre stage and led a host of deaf and disabled artists, local children and performers newly trained in circus skills. Sir Ian McKellen also acted scenes from Shakespeare’s The Tempest in the role of Prospero, and a 430-strong deaf choir had sung God Save the Queen – who also happened to be there. The men – two wheelchair powerlifters and a trainer – are accused of sexual assault and voyeurism against women and CHILDREN.
