  • SKINSTAD GIVES US A TRI NATIONS HEADS UP

23 Jul 2009 by Seth Rotherham in Bob Skinstad, Rugby, The 2oceansvibe Characters

Bob Skinstad, The Character Formerly Known As The Loose Forward, finally got back to me on the eve of my departure to Los Angeles. You see, I arrive there on the first weekend of the Tri Nations (that SA are playing) and wouldn’t know WHERE to start, in terms of finding a venue to watch. The yanks aren’t big into rugby as it is, and the tri-nations doesn’t even involve them (it’s not the “world series” or anything) so I’ll be pretty much screwed!

There was only one man to ask, and he responded on his own blog!

Jeepers, talk about a rough to do list!

My mate at 2oceansvibe, Seth Rotherham has asked that I make sure he doesn’t miss the game while he is on an “assignment” in LA (some people have the life).

I have done some digging and found, happily, that there is quite a healthy rugby population in Californeeah, and they will be watching on (their Saturday morning) on Fox Sports, ESPN, and RugbyZone (live streaming). Also on https://www.larugby.com/bar.htm and the Beverly Ramada on Wiltshire blvd.

“I hope that’s all you need Seth” – (and any other rugby nuttters, remember to check in for my pre/post game vids on my side at www.bobskinstad.co.za)

Oh, and enjoy the adoption (!!WTF!!)

Looking forward to seeing you and the weather girls, on your return.

    Bob

You get full marks for that, old chap! Thank you very much!

Now I just hope that Pauly Shore is a rugby fan – then we’ll be laughing!

    UPDATE

Just got this from 2oceansviber Richard S. UNREAL! check it out:

you can always watch the rugby on “pirate” streams online. These two sites will have them online:

https://www.p2p4u.net/ this one will have better feed, probably SuperSport. Make sure you click on other sports and have good bandwith.

    or

    https://www.p2pstation.net/

As a constant traveller, could’nt live without these guys. Quality is not always that great, but when travelling and in the abscence of an Irish pub in the US, its a good alternative.

Thanks Rich, you’ve done very well..
