In case you missed the headline board on the roads last week. The Times seem to be finding their sign boards just as restrictive as SMS and Twitter – making use of the acronym “LOL,” which, as you may well be aware of, stands for Laugh Out Loud.
They want you to know that they’re “down” with it. Sure, they might be excluding most people over 50, but hey, street cred is what we’re looking for, right? The bulk of the 50+ market will simply think it’s written by someone with those initials. And, with the exclamation mark at the end, it must be someone who is damn happy with their initials!

It’s clearly very amusing that Strauss chose to bat.
Do you think the referring headline in the actual broadsheet said, “Straaus Elects To Bat – Laugh Out Loud!” ?
