  • Michael Douglas Beats Cancer – Thanks Kirk Douglas’s Genes

Michael Douglas has beaten cancer and says it’s largely thanks to the strong genes bestowed upon him by his father, Kirk. Kirk Douglas is 94 and still as strong as a canary. Michael Douglas’s mother is pushing 90. If my calculations are correct that means he will live for at least 30 more years.

“I’m eating like a pig… I lost about 32 pounds. And I’ve put about 12 back,” said the veteran Hollywood actor in his first TV interview since he was diagnosed with a cancer tumour last August. He’s also hitting the gym and hopes to promote his latest films Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps and Solitary Man for the Oscars next month.

We’ve enjoyed Michael Douglas in roles ranging from a powerful business tycoon to a deranged commuter over the years. He has won two Academy Awards, first as producer of One Flew Over The Cuckoo’s Nest and as actor for his role in Wall Street. This is eerily starting to sound like an obituary so just to remind everyone – Michael Douglas is still alive and doing well after beating cancer.
