South African band aKING will rock the Fugard Theatre in Cape Town tonight as they launch their third album, “The Red Blooded Years”. The album, described by the band as “effortless and balanced”, is included in the ticket price of R150. How’s that for effortless?
“We’ve written a lot of [the songs from the album] starting on a keyboard and concentrated on vocals a lot more, whereas in the past we found riffs we thought were cool, and stacked vocals over them.” Expect a powerful vocal performance from Laudo, then.
The band will perform at the Fugard as part of their five gig launch tour which culminates at Kirstenbosch on Sunday 3 April. We can’t promise you’ll get a free album as well as a mountain view at KB though, so make sure you also catch them at the Fugard tonight and tomorrow. Tickets available at Computicket.
