  • Music Sensation, Rebecca Black, Asks: “Which Seat Can I Take?” [VIDEO]

Prepare to witness hilarity the likes of which you have not seen since “Antoine Dodson” or “Double Rainbow”. If you thought “Bieber Fever” was bad prepare yourself for the “Black Plague”. Make ready for Rebecca Black and “Friday”.

Rebecca Black is a 13-year-old girl from LA, whose parents spent $2000 on a music video by vanity music company “Ark Music Factory”. Ark Music allegedly seeks to promote “emerging talent”, if by “emerging” you mean spending $2000 that is. Ark Music’s website is somewhat creepy. It looks like the kind of thing a 40-year-old man, who lives in his mother’s basement, might like.

But what Ark Music probably didn’t see coming was that one of their “stars” would end up being a massive Internet sensation over the course of less than a week. The song features Black, her braces-wearing friends and, disturbingly, a 30-something rapper cruising around town for reasons unknown.

    With lyrics like:

    Kickin’ in the front seat
    Sittin’ in the back seat
    Gotta make my mind up
    Which seat can I take?

    and:

    Partyin’, partyin’ (Yeah)
    Partyin’, partyin’ (Yeah)
    Fun, fun, fun, fun
    Lookin’ forward to the weekend

but the tour de force is surely:

    Yesterday was Thursday, Thursday
    Today i-is Friday, Friday (Partyin’)
    We-we-we so excited
    We so excited
We gonna have a ball today

    Tomorrow is Saturday
And Sunday comes after … wards
I don’t want this weekend to end.

This is perhaps the worst song ever written.

But it matters little as Rebecca Black is going to make a quadrillion dollars. And so will Ark Music Factory and so will Simon Cowell, as he’s already said, “I think it’s genius…”.

The bit that I find the scariest though, apart from Black’s dead, soulless eyes and inane grin, is that I love this song and that means that there must be something wrong with my brain.
