Donald Trump running for the American presidency might sound like a bad idea to some – just like his haircut. Say what you will about his political ambitions, but I actually think Trump embodies the American ideal, which is perfectly encapsulated in this reminiscence of how he screwed one Muammar Gaddafi over in a property deal.
During an interview on Fox News yesterday, Trump said he has more of a track record than anyone in the Republican presidential running field when it comes to dealing with foreign leaders and dignitaries: “I sell them real estate for tremendous amounts of money. I mean, I’ve dealt with everybody.” He went on to say that he is particularly happy with the fact he “screwed” Gaddafi on a past real estate deal.
“I rented him a piece of land. He paid me more for one night than the land was worth for two years, and then I didn’t let him use the land. That’s what we should be doing. I don’t want to use the word ‘screwed’, but I screwed him.”
