  • How To Escape The Next Tsunami: The Noah Disaster Shelter

The Japanese have proved that they are some of the most resilient people on earth. With the earthquake and tsunami that struck earlier this year, numerous acts of heroism emerged. Now they’ve invented the Noah Disaster Shelter as a very probable device for protection when particular natural disasters strike.

New CosmoPower has created the Noah Disaster Shelter, which is meant to offer a method of protection in the event that you suddenly find yourself in the path of a tsunami.

Apparently it might also be a viable option if an earthquake strikes, but you’d have to move really quickly if you wanted to get into it in time.

The device can hold up to four adults, but not everyone is the same size as the average Japanese person, so rather bank on two at most.

It is highly resistant to direct impacts and water, although it’s probably not a good idea to use it in a fire because the reinforced plastic will probably melt.

Its yellow colour makes it easy to detect in the aftermath of a disaster, and it comes fitted with a pole to hold onto in case you experience turbulence. One just hopes one wouldn’t be washed away in the wrong direction, obviously.

Here is the demonstration video, in Japanese:

Until there is any decent competition in the market, the $3 900 price you will pay for one seems reasonable, because anything that might decrease the risk of being swept away by a tsunami is better than nothing.
