You know that thing in sort-of-science-fictional shows or awful police procedurals where they have a blurry photo which they zoom into indefinitely and then use television magic to “enhance” it and keep it from turning into the pixelated jpeg it should be? Adobe can do that now.
The jaw-dropping feature was demonstrated at this year’s Adobe MAX event in Los Angeles. The tech works by calculating the trajectory of the camera when the original image was created, and uses that info to compensate for the blur.
Check out the above video to see it de-blur a low resolution image pulled from the internet.
Adobe wouldn’t comment on when the feature would see public release, saying sneak peek features “may or may not appear in a future version, we won’t commit to timing.”
