IsAnyoneUp.com is a website that posts pictures of user-submitted cellphone nudie pics, along with screenshots of their Facebook profiles. The only problem is, the Facebook profile part is often done without consent. Zuckerberg isn’t exactly happy about it.
This new niche of stalker porn has opened up a new web of problems – often the nudie pics are submitted from the sexts received by angry exes, and their Facebook profile linked this way. While this is a great way to get back at your ex, it’s a bit mean and Facebook has now instituted legal action. A Cease & Desist letter was sent to the website, in which it was stated: “Facebook will take whatever measure it believes are necessary to enforce its rights, maintain the quality of the site, and protect its users.” Yeah, good luck with that.
The website owner, Hunter Moore, responded to this threat by sending them a picture of his wedding tackle, illustrating his high levels of maturity and possible reasoning for establishing the site. The 25 year-old Moore has stated: “I’m not a virgin to cease and desists—I get about a million a day. I think [Facebook] is under pressure from users to do something about me… I don’t give a fuck. I’m never going to stop.”
It seems the scope of social media is changing. This should be fun to watch.
