Bizcommunity, one of South Africa’s more popular sites for news, jobs and events in advertising, marketing, media, retail and related sectors, has launched an online shopping portal called BizBuy, focusing on lifestyle and business products.
This follows a recent trend with BidorBuy launching an online store last month, and Mr. Price launching their own online shopping service later this year. A recent study from MasterCard revealed that online shopping has increased in SA and continues to show potential for growth. It seems South Africa is slowly coming round to the idea that shopping online is a good idea.
Bizcommunity is focusing on two categories, business and lifestyle products. In the business category they have partnered with Quirk to offer numerous marketing and digital courses through Quirk Education, and GutFeel, a consumer research product. On the lifestyle front Bizcommunity is working with The Bay Hotel, Sinn’s Restaurant, Rippon’s Safari Lodge, Winefolk and Getwine.
In the lifestyle section there is a focus on discounts, with all the offers starting with a certain “per cent off”; while in the business section only the GutFeel product is at a reduced rate, and the Quirk Education digital courses are being offered at full price.
