Cape Town institution and every foodie’s delight, Caveau Restaurant, has closed down. After eight incredible years, there is now one less thing you are able to do before you die. This follows the closing of Caveau Restaurant in Newlands in December 2012.
Find memories include their signature chalk board and famed range of tapas, matched only by the incredible wine selection and top service, there will definitely be a number of regulars entering a period of mourning after hearing the news.
2oceansvibe in particular would like to thank Brendon and Jean and the gang for eight very special years. We’re going to miss the place but will keep flying the HQ and Sotano flags!
An emotional co-owner Brendon Crew told 2oceansvibe that it was a very difficult business-motivated decision. “In these current times and in a space the size of Caveau, you need large numbers of feet coming through the door. With the future in mind, we had to be realistic and called it. We would like to send the biggest thank you to all our very special customers and regular clientele – there are only special memories.”
The partners (Brendon Crew, Marc Langlois and Jean Muller), still operate HQ restaurant (next door), Sotano in Mouille Point and Caveau Restaurant in Century City.
