Yesterday reports surfaced that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un had been given the title of Marshal – the country’s highest military rank. He was awarded the title after Ri Yong Ho, one of the highest-ranking chiefs in the Korean army, stepped down due to illness on Monday.

And how did the troops respond? Turns out they were so ecstatic that spontaneous dancing broke out in the streets! Kim Jong Gum, a student at the Kang Pan Sok Revolutionary School dressed in a military uniform, told the Associated Press:

I am pleased that our cherished desire came into reality. This day will be remembered in our hearts as another meaningful and auspicious day!
