Londoners were treated yesterday to the sight of a 15m-high rubber duck floating down the river Thames. Tower Bridge was even forced to open in order to allow the giant inflatable bath toy to float upriver.
The stunt was pulled by online gambling website Jackpotjoy.com to celebrate its new Facebook FUNdation – a bursary granting funds and rewards for crazy ideas that encourage Britons to “have more fun”.
The company also left the following message on their Facebook page:
Did everybody enjoy the #JackpotjoyDuck today? We wanted to do everything we could to help cheer up the Nation. But it doesn’t end there, because now it’s your turn! Putting a giant rubber duck on the Thames is the exact sort of fun we want you to submit to the Jackpotjoy FUNdation. If you send us a video or a picture of you proposing a crazy, wonderful, fun idea that you want to turn into a reality – then, like the #JackpotjoyDuck, we might just do it!
