The movie director behind films such as Snakes on a Plane and Final Destination 2 has died in Johannesburg on Monday.
David R. Ellis, who is also a former stuntman, was discovered in the bathroom of his hotel room in Sandton.
A post mortem examination has been carried out but the cause of death still remains unknown at this stage. However, according to authorities, nothing was found to be missing from his room, and no foul play is being suspected.
Ellis (pictured below) was in Johannesburg to work on Kite, a remake of an 1998 Japanese anime film. Samuel L. Jackson, who was set to appear in the movie, tweeted his condolences after hearing of the director’s death.
